Desiree Morrisseau-Keesick is an Anishinaabe woman born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her maternal family comes from Crane River, MB and her paternal family comes from Grassy Narrows First Nation in Ontario. She has been running her business, Makeupbydcmk, as a freelance makeup artist for the past six years. She also works at the University of Manitoba as Lead for the Indigenous Student Recruitment team. Desiree is best known for her work within the wedding industry and giving back to her community through yearly-organized fundraisers. In this episode, Desiree shares her passion for making people feel beautiful and how she uses her platform to create connection and bring awareness to issues of inequality and social justice.
