Desmond Bane Returns to TCU as Chief Basketball Officer | TCU Horned Frogs Basketball News

TCU’s men’s basketball program is welcoming back NBA star Desmond Bane in a new advisory role as Chief Basketball Officer, where he’ll lend elite-level insight to coach Jamie Dixon and the team—focusing on player development, leadership, and the mental game of elite athletics. Beyond the court, Bane will mentor student-athletes on career management and serve as a bridge to the NBA, drawing on his own journey from TCU All-Big 12 honors to a standout NBA career, including averaging over 23 points per game and being traded for four future first-round picks. This move joins a growing trend of NBA stars like Stephen Curry, Trae Young, and Lillard giving back to college hoops, and Coach Dixon sees Bane’s dual identity as a TCU alum and NBA vet as a game-changing asset for the program.
