Desmond Bane Returns to TCU as Chief Basketball Officer | TCU Horned Frogs Basketball News

Desmond Bane, TCU’s NBA-bound legend and Orlando Magic star, is returning home as Chief Basketball Officer — not just to lend his name, but to mentor the next generation with real NBA wisdom. After a stellar six-year pro career, including a full-time starting role with the Magic, Bane brings firsthand insight into player development, leadership, and life beyond college. Coach Jamie Dixon calls it a game-changer, and Bane, who rose from unranked recruit to record-setting icon and jersey-retired hero, sees it as a chance to give back. This isn’t nostalgia — it’s a strategic move to bridge college and pro basketball, giving current Horned Frogs a direct line to the NBA.
