This is the place where sports, Queensborough, Dennis, sports, I'm your host, Kenneth B. And joining me on the show, it's just two others right now. We have Spike and FIFA. Yes, sir.
What'd it do? We are live, so everybody please set the thumbs up on the letter, everybody know that we are here. We appreciate you guys tuning in. Wherever you watching, man, on Facebook, on Twitter, YouTube, and Twitch as well.
But we are definitely here to continue our coverage of the NBA playoffs. But also we're starting to ramp up in a fail talk as well, because that is right around the corner. And we out of trade, we actually had a couple of trades, but there's a big trade that took place this evening. Well, this past week.
So we're gonna talk about that as well, which is actually because we don't have a best of the week. We're gonna jump right into that. So, this past Sunday, man, the Memphis, Memphis, Memphis. That's funny.
The Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic made a mid-level, definitely not blockbuster trade, sending Desmond Bane to the Magic in exchange for Contavious, Caldwell Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first round picks, and one first round pick swap. Who won this trade? Well, first and foremost, I gotta clarify you. It is a blockbuster trade because of the first, four first round picks that are unprotected.
The player involved in the main player doesn't invade, not a superstar, all-star level type of caliber player, but it's a blockbuster because of those four unprotected first round picks. Now here's the thing. From a fit perspective, love the move forward, Orlando, because we saw the play against Boston. And for as if not three quarters, we saw Orlando be able to maintain pace.
When they hit that fourth quarter, they just didn't have the horses, they didn't have the shooting. Orlando's one of the worst three point shooters in the NBA as a collective, and now they got one of the best three point shooters in the league. One of my gripes with Desmond Bane, I've always said, I don't feel he's like a one-on-one score. He's more of a recipient score.
And I say he can't take you off the dribble and get floaters, but that's just not his game. He's more of a catch and shoot guy. He has expanded his game since he's been in the league, which is the reason why he got the extension that he got. I think he's gonna fit Orlando like a glove.
He got obviously a young and up and up and coming point guard with Jayla Suggs, which I don't know if y'all knew, but that is Tyree Tyler for his cousin. Oh, that's why he's like. What the hell? But he's up and coming Ken.
And then they have two main horses with Frost Wagner and Apollo Band Carol. So I like the fit, but this is where Orlando messed up. If it took four first round picks to get him, it took four first round picks to get him, but you got to protect him, Joe Stogg. They got to be top three, top five, top eight protected because your future is not a guarantee.
The Phoenix pick, it is what it is, right? Like you give him that. Even this year's pick from Orlando, obviously give that unprotected. It is what it is.
But those other two picks that are in the future, they should have protected him just in case. You know what I'm saying? And to me, that's the only thing that makes this trade a bad trade is that they're unprotected picks. Because again, Desmond Bain is gonna move the needle, but he doesn't put you over the top to be one of the elite teams in the East.
You're gonna be in the middle of the East now. Instead of playing, being in a plane, you should be six or higher. You know what I'm saying? But it's the unprotected on the picks Ken.
Like that's scary to me. I don't think that's good business. The home protection on the picks, so you're saying that Orlando should have protected picks, so the Grizzlies couldn't take it if they got a topic? Exactly, so in the NBA, you could protect your picks, right?
Like you could say top three protected. So let's just say for whatever reason, let's say next season, right? Franz Wagner and Paulo go down. And it's just Desmond Bain on there.
You know you won't be one of the worst teams in the league. They're gonna have a top three pick. And that pick goes to Memphis. But if you would have protected that pick, you keep that top three pick and then you exchange another, you know what I'm saying?
First wrong pick down the way or whatever like that. You know what I'm saying? From what we've seen in other playoffs in the match, from the magic, I do think that they need a man. Like there's a going to be a vital piece of the team.
They didn't have anybody under the Apollo that they could get a bucket. And even though Bain's, I agree with you, if he's a recipient score, he's not going to create his own shot, but he is so efficient from what he does at the three points. Like that, I think that him and Paulo actually may be a better combination than Bain and Morant. So I do think the magic came out very well in this trade.
For the Grizzlies, it's just, all the top three I've seen about it in the same thing. I thought was like, okay, what are they? This kind of wisdom in no man's land. I think it's for us around Pixie, but does that mean you're rebuilding with John?
You're going to put those picks around him? Is Jackson going to resign? Are you going to resign, John? Like it's interesting that they want to break their team up that I think was number four in the West.
I just don't seem like they doing anything cohesive to continue to build towards, oh, we think John Moran is our guy. And we got the ammunition to put a good team behind him and want to compete in the West. Like I don't think this did anything towards that for the Grizzlies, which makes me question the move on their end. Well, I will say this, right?
Like we're dealing in draft picks, especially as many as they got, it's not, you don't get those draft picks all the time to draft those guys and those drafts. You get that ammunition to be able to go swimming for another trade for somebody else that you may feel fits better or takes you over the top. Because at the end of the day, right? Like we know that the West is ridiculously loaded.
Wasn't it like only four or five games that separated like one through eight? Like it was really close. And if we're talking about on paper, right? Like obviously we're in the summer time now, except for two teams, but on paper, they're not better.
KCP is not Desmond Bay. And KCP's coming off of arguably his worst season of his career, you know what I'm saying? He got paid. So part of this trade was unloading KCP, which I get, which you have to give up assets if you want to get rid of a back contract.
But again, the protection and also methods doesn't have a coach, right? So a lot of the things that you're saying, Spike, I don't disagree with you. I 100% agree with you. I'm just interested to see, because this is not the only domino.
And Sean's and Gwenie have been talking about, this is going to be a crazy off season. And obviously we, you know, it has started, you know what I'm saying? We're seeing, we know Katie's going to move. We know there's certain other players that's going to be available.
That being said, I wonder if the grisly, because I think Jot is still a superstar guy. I think he could be the face of the league if not the franchise, right? I feel that if you do resign Jot, you do resign Jaren Jackson, then you utilize KCP's contract, what's these four first run picks that you got? And you may swing for another person.
Because at the end of the day, Memphis is one of those markets, you're not going to get a free agent. So you're going to have to go trade for your guy if you don't draft your guy. And I don't think that Memphis's timeline is in drafting players right now. They're in more of a win now, compete now mode.
I think Bang was filling himself and he had to get him up out of there. You know, he was acting like he was one of them guys, bro. You know, and like he was the best player on the team, you know, compared to Jot. So what happens to him now?
Cause we'll move into Orlando. We will see. Cause I think he can, what do you think? You think he'll slide into the second, as the second best player or the third best player on the team?
Cause the clock is nice. He'll do three. Yeah, I think some games he could be a two-kin. Cause when you shoot 41% from three, that means that you get hot, you know?
And those guys, like he's hot, he might be the first option in those games. You know what I'm saying? Because he's that hot. And obviously how they want to construct their offense now that they have a legit floor spacer.
But he's definitely a third option routinely. I think he could be a second option, you know, just depends on Franz. I think Franz could be a second or third. And the thing is, is that I feel with Baines, we kind of know what he is.
Franz is still finding himself and Paulo still hasn't even stretched the surface of how good he can be. So those, so all of that, you know, movement, I think if Baines goes in there as a professional and be like, hey, look, I'm going to do what you guys, but I'm here to do what you get buckets, space the floor, you know what I'm saying? Be a constantly professional. Where he fits in a hierarchy won't matter.
I mean, he's used. Yeah, I mean, you know, I was always out. So he was used to being a guy. So now you got to slide back into third option, second option depending on the night.
You know, I think he'll be okay with doing that because it's Paulo's team, bro. It's like that Carol's the guy. I think this is a really good move for Orlando. Like it makes a lot of sense.
It looks like they were lacking a guy of this caliber. And not many people were going to go to Orlando to play. It doesn't seem like that Carol is a guy that people want to go play with just yet. And that is subject to change.
But I really love the trade for them. I think with Memphis, I don't know, man, it's really weird what they are doing now. JJ has finally managed to stay healthy. He had injury concerns early on, but he's managed to stay healthy consistently.
And he's turned into a really, really good guy. Because I'm wrong. Over defensively at the US. Yeah, he was looking shaky early on his career, but he's there now.
And now are they going to build around John now? Or what's the deal? Well, there was always building around John. And that's the best player on the squad.
There was always building around John. And part of Jaren Jackson's journey was figuring out, okay, well, what does my game look like next to John? Because he didn't come in being a three-point shooter. He didn't come in being that type of guy.
He didn't come in being one of the best shop blockers in the league. He grew into that. Not saying that he didn't have the ability, but he grew into those things. Now, I will say this, does this not remind you of what Minnesota did last season?
When they got rid of Cat, which is arguably their second best player. Not saying Bain is, we know Jaren Jackson Jr. is definitely a second best player. But then, one of those guys that you know that you have to get involved, a guy that they paid big money to.
And all season, I was talking about that this is a retool for Minnesota. You know what I'm saying? And they went as far as the Western Conference Finals. I'm not predicting that for the Memphis Grizzlies.
But again, I think that they have so much draft capital now that I don't see them draft. The only way they're gonna use those draft picks to draft players can is if they trade Jarmoree. And go away. I mean, that's the next part of this.
Do you think it would be wise for them to move on from John or continue to build around him? I think you have to explore all options. I think everything's on the table right now. I think John has to be on the table.
If you get the right offer, then you move on. If you don't like what you're getting, obviously, you know, he's extension eligible. I think he still has two years left on his contract, but he's extension eligible this summer. So if you don't like what you're getting, re-sign him, utilize those picks in KCP to move on.
So somebody else that may be available and just keep it moving. But I think that if you do get the right offer, then you move on from him, depending on what you get back in the trade, shit, you might have to trade Jarmoree Jackson as well. So they still have some roster restructuring to do, but we got Jia, KCP will play with two, three. You got JJJ, they got their center in the rookie and Cole Anthony, what coming up a bench.
Of course, back up. And then, you know, where else is on that team that they got? So it seems like they'll need another guy to slot into maybe that starting lineup. Maybe that guy's already on the team.
Not that guy's not on the team. What is he? He's a European player. I'm not sure if he's like, like, Pakistani or something like that.
But he's a wing player. Him and Bane got into it a couple of times on the sideline. You know, I'm bad with names, but he was a rookie. I really like him.
Can I think, I've been talking about Memphis in the weakness in the roster. He's been that three, four guy. Well, not four now because they drop his X, E.D. So it's like JJJ to the four, but that two, three guy that has elite ability.
He doesn't have to be elite in terms of like K.D. or Yannis, but a Siakum and Ojian and Obie. That's what they're missing. They need a guy like that.
I mean, they need a bucket gear. As much as Bane is a bucket, you can't, you just can't give him the bum and clear it out and be like, just go get a bucket. That's just not his game. So whether that's somebody off the bench, somebody in the start of line up, I think they need a bucket getter.
I think they need somebody that can compete with the K.D. The Yannis is the LeBron's of the world. On defense. What's your thinking to strike you?
It's good for a line up. At first, you're gonna look at it with all the picks involved, but a line up is gonna be good for the next three, four years. So a lot of those picks are probably gonna be really late. And they're first, I think they're with the top 10 protected.
Oh wait, no, I'm protected. But I believe that they're still gonna be good enough to where that's gonna fall to the back half of the draft. So you shouldn't be looking at that like, this huge haul for, you know what I'm saying? I see people were saying, look, we've got one thing.
I don't think it's gonna be that big of a haul. I think the only thing that's gonna be good for the next three, four years. And if you're Orlando, I think the reason why they probably pulled the trigger on this is because you're watching Knee Smith and you're watching Emhard, you're watching, you know what I'm saying? Cass and Wallace and Aaron Wiggins and all these people, you know, come off the bench, start for these final teams.
And with Celtics having a, you know, basically in a punt the year and Jalen Brown having orthoscopic surgery on his knees. And people been ringing the alarms about Jalen Brown's knees also for last season or two. Boston's not gonna be in the picture. We, and we're not sure how good Cleveland really is and who's really the top guy there.
There's still things that have to be sorted out in that organization. You're looking at Milwaukee. Are they gonna be stubborn and just keep you honest? Because hey, they think the same thing as Orlando that the East is wide open.
And if you're Orlando, are you scared of Milwaukee of all they got is honest and a bunch of guys? So if you're Orlando, you can talk yourself into the fact that we can make the East and Conference finals next year. But Carol is that good. And we keep running the Boston in the first round when they were fully loaded.
Now that they're gone, who's really in our way? Are we scared of the Pacers for real? I don't think anyone is looking at the Pacers like a juggernaut. They're looking at them like, man, this is a really good team that doesn't quit.
They know their roles and they're scrappy. Desmond Bain, he adds the shooting that they needed so badly. They still need a point guard to me. I still would have liked to have seen.
You know what I'm doing, James Suggs? Suggs to me, I think he can be a combo. I think that he's good enough to play with. I always say like Trey Young and Janis Suggs would have been the perfect back court for them because you have distribution and shooting.
You used to have defense and some secondary ball handling there. I don't think Janis Suggs moves the needle enough from an offensive standpoint. But I think Orlando's betting on just running, you know, Suggs from France, Ben Caro, Bain, and then probably putting Isaac in whoever else their five is and then hoping that their rookie black, Anthony Black, you know, shows him some more promise because he had a pretty solid year last year. Like wasn't as good as his rookie year.
But no, Mayor, overall, I would give the trade like a B plus, A minus. And I think that if you're Orlando, you shouldn't be afraid of anybody because you have no idea. Like I said, Boston Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York Knicks, who's gonna lead that organization? Can they recapture lightning in a bottle?
Really your peers in the East are gonna be probably Detroit. It's gonna be, you know, saying the guys with stars, like New York, but nobody's a juggernaut, nobody's Goliath. So this is a good trade. If I'm Memphis, though, to answer you all's question there, I will, to me, I'm blowing it up.
I think that that experiment is done. I think I've seen what John Moran is in this organization, I'm not saying as a player, but from what I've seen in this Memphis organization and them firing Taylor Jenkins, it's just there's no adults in the room. And when there's no adults in the room, I'm always gonna go for the philosophy of get value now before it gets even worse. Jared Jackson has a has a year left on his contract.
I would move that immediately. And I would try my damnedest to get off Josh's contract because I don't think that there's anything you're gonna win in the future, especially if OKC and the Lakers retooling around Luca, the ones LeBron's on the books, they get mad cap space. That's gonna be in the window. You have Denver that's still gonna be lurking.
They're gonna be able to retool. They're gonna move some contracts if they can. You're just not going anywhere unless he just wants to retire. He has another four or five years of being super fucking dominant.
And if you're Memphis, like a foil-till Orlando's philosophy, are you looking at yourself in the next three, four years and saying we can make the Western Conference Finals with this team? Personally me, I would say no, but I've been wrong before. So a couple of things to, I agree with 95% of the things you said. I don't agree with the unprotected of the picks because while I do agree that Orlando should be good for the next couple of years, we can't predict injuries.
And I think injured in Vancouver, Carol puts you in a lottery, even with Bane on a roster. You know what I'm saying? So that's my only thing. And I don't think it needed to be top three protected, or it didn't have to have a large protection like lottery protected, just like top three.
Because if you do have an injury that you can't overcome, I think you should be compensated for that. So that's the only thing I disagree with you there. But in terms of the fit, four-landed 100% agree, in terms of what it means for Memphis, I don't disagree. I will say this, I think there are places that if I was jaw, I would probably want to go to, you name them in terms of like an adversary.
But they've been flailing a little bit in recent years. But like Denver, I would entertain a Jomor-Marie for Jomor-Rantry, because Jamal is a shell of who he was. Josh still has a lot of runway in front of him. I think he's kind of sort of, I think we know what he is.
I think what I would like to see out of jaw is more old man game, because when you can't double pump the baseline against Boston, 7-2, and blockers and everybody at the rim, you can't do that. What does your game look like? So it's still magnificent right now, the athletic ability and the explosion. But what I would like to see out of jaw is what does your old man game look like?
And I think you put that juxtaposed to Joker. That's a dynamic duo. I told Ken on Sunday, if I'm the league, if I'm the league, I'm trying to facilitate your ultimate Minnesota, if I'm the league. Because I think that is just straight up prime time, the most athletic back court you've ever seen.
You know what I mean? You have the splash brothers, well these are the crash brothers. They're ready to crash out. And I feel like this would be the ratings you're looking for.
You give Ant his point guard the pressure valve release that he needs, I think it would be prime time. Let me ask you this little kid. Well, I love that, but do you feel that jaw moves the needle more than KD with for Minnesota? Absolutely.
Long term, long term. Of course. I'm not talking long term. I'm talking like the next term.
The next term, next term. Next two years, you can make the case that KD fits more, like pertinent offensive need in clutch situations and probably as just a three level score that they just don't have right now. But I think that jaw makes Ant more dynamic immediately as well. And just a lot of threats immediately.
It's just like, wow, who, how do we, you know what I'm saying? But jaw has to work on his three point shot. And nothing has to be 43 per percent on like eight or nine attempts a game. But he has to, me, take that leap from, like you said, the old man game back to the back, it will be so nice to see, like just a little turnaround baby hook consisting of four or five times a game.
But then also, I need him to be in that 39, 40%, 38, 40 per percentage in his three point shot. Because that's the thing that has regressed since, I think the last two seasons, you know, he was making strides and he had like, I think three months where he was shooting 40% on like five or six attempts, but it's gone down since then. And I think that's a testament to just no adults in the room and like he's, I'm not saying John Marin is being failed by the Grizzlies. I just think that the Grizzlies are not putting their best foot forward with developing their young talent for some reason.
Now, if that you, if that you, what you said first is what's right, when you have a dynamic player like John, you have to get the coach that is going to build it around John and what his talents are. And I think once they moved off of, Tailaging. Yes, once they moved off the coach, they tried to implement a system and took the ball out of John's hand. And when you're a dynamic point guard, you give him the rock and you say go create, go do what you do.
And that times will run sets that make sense to get, you know, other people involved. Transpose that to Minnesota. It works a little different. I still want the ball in his hand, you know what I'm saying?
But just know like one A is that guy, I mean, Ed man, you know what I'm saying? So you could create create for the others, but just know that when we need a bucket, you're going to be secondary to whatever they, whatever the coverage is on him, you know what I'm saying? So, but now I do like the Minnesota. There's a lot of places I think Jock can go and really be a difference maker.
I think Houston is one of those places. You put him in between the guy, leave. So, so anywhere that there's another dynamic guy, you add Jock to that mix. If he can stay healthy, I mean, New Orleans, right?
New Orleans would be great. If they can stay healthy, both of them. If they focus, they healthy. Jines, I want to be fucking crazy, right?
But here's the thing though, like I will say this to you, I will put my money more on Joss, they healthy this Zion because as much as the issues off the court that we've seen with Jock, I never questioned the one for basketball. I think Joss has that ingrained, we've seen the stories of his dad, how he got the vert and all that type of stuff. I think Joss wants to be great. I can't say this outside.
The outside noise seems to be too much for Joss sometimes. Like he pays attention to the outside stuff. Even with the tweet that he said today, like y'all talking about the Grizzlies and the fight like, bro, just enjoy your off season, bro. You don't have to comment and put yourself into these conversations that they have and whether they're talking good or bad about you, just go play.
So I do agree with you on the sense of fee for like, I do think that he really enjoys the game, but I think that he could use some sort of mentorship on what to ignore, like what to not engage with, and that would help him tremendously in his next endeavor. But with Zion, I agree with what you would like to say. So I don't think he got to love a game. You know how to look like, you know, he got to love a game.
He's good. He's good. He got paid. He's good.
I think like this, since we're talking about Katie, you know, these trades and whatnot, I think that in any scenario for a job or for a Katie, it's always going to be people like Masai, Ygeri that are going to get involved in Toronto. I wouldn't be surprised if Jai or Katie end up in places like that, just because Masai is always willing to like gamble with certain people that, you know, are distressed assets or are, I'm never going to play in Toronto or I'm never going to play there. I don't know if that's the case, but I think we're going to see some smoke in the next couple of days with Toronto too. So just hold on.
Okay. Real quick, part of the reason why players don't like playing in Toronto, specifically, it's the taxes. I don't know if you want to know about the tax situation in Canada, but it's it's not a good situation. You lose a lot of money by playing in Toronto.
So that's part of the reason why players don't want to go there. Yeah. And also I heard that they have to also keep going through customs. That's true.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like you think job, your good fit in the shooting range.
Yeah. You laid that down. I think you ran to use some help over there too. Anyway, it takes a job.
Great. It's real Iran. Oh, my God. They all get used to help.

Well, we need to talk, man. We just actually had a conversation about the trade that took place. And one of the most interesting aspects of it for me is one that seems to be a developing trend over the last couple of years. And it's the you can take all the traffic.
You won't. I don't even need them. And I understand the value of these traffic. The projections for these are low, but you're looking at what they did.
We go bare. You're looking at this trade. It's just like, okay, see, like they're just giving traffic away. And to me, I think there is a devaluing of future NBA players or the future young NBA players on the rise.
If you're willing to just offload all of these picks. And I know that most of the talent it seems now is from overseas. I know there's this generational conversation about the guys that aren't going on enough because they got it too good. Somebody just said that last week.
But I think it's really interesting. The high volume of draft picks that are now being included in these trade packages, typically for just one guy like Desmond Baine is he really worth four damn picks. Is this go bare really worth all of those picks? It tells me that those picks really ain't shit.
So I think that that's something that has to be rewritten as we move forward in the future. And I slightly disagree with you because in the Desmond being trade part of the reason why Memphis got those picks again because they're taking on KCP's horrible contract. KCP's getting 30 plus million a year, bro. You got to pay up some other way.
So that's partly why those four picks happen in the way that they happen. I do think this can. I think that the way that the NBA, the general managers and owners are looking at draft picks now is are we in contention now or in the next three years? And if the answer is yes, let's get them picks man.
Get rid of that. This is the Rams model. LA Rams because that's essentially what they did. They just, they just, they just, they just, they just, they just picks for, you know, a little bit.
But no, no, no, yes, Ken. And I think sports, um, it's kind of like what was that? Uh, Jerry Maguire movie, um, show me the money. Yeah, for sure.
Yeah. Yeah. It was a great one. But, um, it's kind of, it's like that, Ken, like where it just is the math math.
And if we're not a contention, if we are in contention for the next three years, the picks, they're not going to help us win nothing. They're just not unless it's a quote unquote generation of talent like a Cooper flag or a zion or something like that, that you know right away that they're going to change the franchise, right? Unless you're in a draft like that, the draft picks don't mean nothing. Bro, they are trading like they're on 2K, bro.
Hey, Ken, again, I don't, draft picks are not being devalued. And the reason why I say that is when we saw the run that Golden State was on, we understand why that happened when we see, um, the way that the, um, the OKC Thunder have been built. We see the value of draft picks, Ken, but it just depends on where you are as a franchise as a franchise, right now. Again, if you're contending, draft picks don't mean nothing to you.
If you are in a retool or rebuild draft picks, me more to you. I put it to you like this for me, right? A team that we are now witnessing this off season, transitions from draft picks are valuable to FM draft picks, San Antonio, San Antonio, before when people say, hey, man, we need all the draft picks we can get after when beat and now when beat, we know he's legit. It's like, well, hey, F all of that.
We already traded for a Dearrion five. So we have another rookie in a year and step on castle. We got when beat and we have how many first run picks move before? Man, try out.
We got the number two pick in this drive. Hey, hey, get this on the phone. Get KB on the phone. The draft picks don't matter for that team.
I just feel like the front offices now are looking at and have been in evaluation of the draft and the players over the last couple of years and realize that the draft has always been hit and missed, but there's more potential. I'd rather get somebody that's good now than take a risk on somebody in the future. I just don't think that they're looking at the future NBA players to come as can't miss guys. I think they're devaluing the future.
And remember, I've had this conversation on this platform for years now that, you know, I talked about expansion. I talked about the quality of player and there are a lot of guys in middle school now, high school now that are going to be a problem in the NBA. The issue is is that if I'm in, if I have a 28 to 32 year old star, why am I going to wait three years to go draft a guy that's going to be 18, 19, 20 years old? When my guy is now going to be either 30 or 35, it doesn't make sense.
Trade that feature asset and give me another guy that can compete right now. I don't think I think your take on devaluing the draft pick is not correct. I just think that it makes sense for some and it doesn't make sense for others. And I think we're witnessing that, right?
Like Orlando gave up four picks because they feel they're in contention now. And they didn't have Palo Alto bank. They want to trade it down to them pigs. They want to draft it a guy this season.
I mean, that's the estimate. I mean, we've seen this happen multiple times. I think there's a developing trend here, which is why I feel like it's a word of discussion. Minnesota can we all look at that really go parrot like what is y'all doing?
But they did it wasn't 100%. But like I said, that dude is going to be a Hall of Famer. They saw credentials and number two, they've been to two Western Conference finals with him on the roster and arguably the person that we said that would never get traded in terms of cat got moved and they still made it to the Western Conference finals. Again, if you are in contention now, drop picks go mean nothing.
You're trying to do shit with some big two. Yeah. We got to see what comes out of them. And if those picks turn into nothing, this kind of highlights my point.
The mother pick saying worth shit. We don't give a fuck about them. So the value is it's shipped to me. I think the first out of the coin is O'Gong City.
Like you can look at them now and like they just came off of it. Boston. They got rid of Paul Pierce KG in a rondo. Okay.
See still got a lot of picks, right? You know what they got? Well, they have like 13 picks in the next like seven or eight years. First rounders.
Nothing even including the second round picks. Not like like okay. Like I always said, you can't pay all those guys. They're probably going to play J.
And maybe one other person and you can't draft all of those guys. You're going to have to offload that. You're going to have to take all salary. All right.
Well, I don't know. I don't disagree. I don't I don't I don't I don't disagree. I just think I don't disagree with Ken from a perspective that certain teams got to play.
The market tax game where the picks are the tax when you're trying to get players to come. And if they feel like, well, what's the point in trying to develop stars when we have to we think are bona fives are right now. And on top of that, if we have to just get off of a bad contract with KCP, then we have to throw another pick in there. So really you're attaching a pick for KCP and is what is it three picks for bank and one pick for KCP with the have four unprotected when you divide it like that.
Like I said, Orlando's thinking, you know, they're going to be picking the bottom 20s. You know what I'm saying? You know, I mean, so we're going to look up in a couple years and see if they're correct, but it's always funny to go back and be like, wait, KCP was in that trade that turned into this bona fide star that fell to the mid 20s. Like we'll see.
But I don't know. I don't know. Okay. Let me ask you this, right?
Like we're going to play. We're going to play rapid fire. Are the picks valuable for Chicago Bulls? Yeah, I would imagine they would be.
Yeah. Are picks valuable for the Miami Heat? Yep. Why?
Because they got to rebuild. They got guys that got to bring in because they just got rid of Jimmy. Exactly. And the Bulls and the Heat picks are valuable to them for two different reasons.
The Bulls want to pick the players. The Miami Heat, well, the picks the move to go trade for a player. So Ken, there's a lot of moving pieces, but there's going to be teams that need picks for whatever reason. And there's going to be teams that don't care about them.
And the Bulls need them. The Utah Jazz Needle, the markets that you're not going to attract free agents need them. And then markets that you could technically get a free agent, but you're still re tooling. You want those picks to be able to go big game fishing.
Miami wants those picks to be able to go get KD, Janis, another big name to add to the two more key guys that they have there now. So again, they're not be valued depending on the team that has them. I don't know. I think we'll see.
Moving on, man. Let's talk about the game last night. A very pivotal game last night. The world was watching a pivotal game five in this year's NBA finals with the Oklahoma City Thunder taking care of home court that they won back and beating the Indiana Pacers in commencement fashion one, 20 to one.
Oh, no, the series now heads to Indiana for game sits on Juneteenth with OKC in a position to end it and win the first championship in franchise history. Who do you guys have winning game six? And then I do want to have a discussion about game five and then four because we weren't on air about those. It's Hallibur down.
I'm not sure that too. He said if he could walk, he can play. He's going to play. I mean, he wasn't effective though.
So that would mean a lot. Maybe he's going to play even if you started out there. So knowing everything that we know now is seeing what I saw, I got the thunder when in the next game on the road, winning the championship. I think it's going to go seven.
I think I feel where Hallibur is coming from. If he could walk, he could play. He knows what it felt like the last game where he was ineffective. You got to shoot it up, do whatever it is that you got to do.
He knows what's required of him for his team to win. So I think he pulls it out at home. If he can play one of them on Indiana, that's it. That's it.
Because what else did they really say? Like somehow, some way they're going to find a way. He's going to be TJ. He's going to be Pascal.
And if it's not going to be Halliburton and Emhard and niece, they're going to find a way to just go to Missouri from three. But if they don't, it was game four that they blew the series. And I don't think they'll ever be able to live it down. Yeah, we talked about that in a sec.
Give my answer real quick. Hold on a spike. I originally thought this was going to go seven. And I'm going to stick with that because OKC's bench players were far more comfortable at home.
And I saw it last night. Jay Will went off. SGA picked the spots and Maywell on the defensive end of the fourth quarter. He was huge for them.
So I thought he was great. But I think that on the road, I haven't seen them play very well. And going back to game four, they were not playing well in that game. But SGA found a way to win.
What was your birthday's fight? I look at SGA plenty if you can't take out injured Halliburton and others as far as what they trajectory that he's supposed to be on. Even if he wins this game seven? Yeah, like I got to take you out in six, bro.
I don't need seven games when injured Halliburton and that team, if SGA is who they say he is. I really feel like this game is a defining moment in his career. Like you go home and win seven and you'll still get the accolades from being a champion. But knowing where Halliburton is, Jaden Williams just gave me a 40 ball in the last game.
I think it says a lot about Halliburton. If he can't close it out on the road. I don't know about that. I think he had his moment in game four.
That game four win when they were down 10, 12 points going into them. They're going into the fourth quarter. Like he what 15 points in the fourth quarter games, pretty much a series on the line. And he went off to steal that game from Indy.
I think if anything, that was the game where Halliburton had a chance to really put the series away and he kind of let nozzed down with his performance. But I think SGA had a moment there and that game reminded me of they were in a similar situation against Denver. And I think they learned a lot in that series because they were down in that game to Denver and they found a way to win that game and take advantage of the league. But what happened in that one spike?
It went seven. I have to say that game four was we had the potential to look up in a couple of days and be like game four was one of the biggest jokes you've ever seen. And the reason why I think it's one of the bigger jokes that could possibly ever happen in a finals is besides Caruso and Chet. The Thunder looked kind of defeated.
Jalen Williams looked like he had kind of quit. He didn't know what to do. SGA looked like he had kind of ran out of gas. He was super tired.
He was confused by the actions that they were doing. They were up 12 points. And I remember watching that lead dwindle possession after possession thinking because it was the last final minute of it's not the half time. I think it was the third quarter but I think it was the end of the third quarter or the last two minutes or right before half time.
But they were up 12 points. And they cut it to seven. And I was just like that is the game right there. That five point swing.
It should have been 20 points going into half time or 20 points going into the fourth quarter. Pass Yaccom uncharacteristically gets out of the offensive flow of the rhythm and he starts you know barreling into the middle of the paint and doing no look passes that are getting intercepted. You have Ob top in shooting threes thinking that he's like Clay Thompson in 2016. And for some reason Nemhard and Nismith are just not where they're supposed to be.
They're turned the ball over on out of bounds plays and seven points just like that. And Caruso to start either the third quarter start the fourth quarter because it's a five with a nice jumper over I think it was Miles Turner. And that right there was the game because the Thunder had overcome that mental hurdle. And they realized oh hey this Indiana Jews don't work on us.
Like we're actually better. Okay cool. Like we can actually play defense. We are SGA.
Welcome down. Let's do it. That travel call that didn't have it was atrocious. But beyond that you can't put it all on one call because the Pacers got out of their offense and they fucked themselves over.
And that's why I say it could potentially be one of the biggest chokes. There was no excuse for any of those plays down the stretch. Rick Carlisle he's sitting in Halliburton too long in key spots for me. And I don't like that we're not going to be able to extend this series because I think okay see I think that the betting man has to put the money on them.
100% you I do think I don't disagree with the Carlisle's the entire race a little too long but maybe he already knew about the injuries trying to get him as much rest as possible. So that way he can go down the stretch. I will also say this game four to me is just kind of sort of what this series has been. So I don't want to call it a choke job should have they won that game 100% they were in the lead for three quarters just kind of the opposite of what happened in okay see game one you know what I'm saying and okay see turned it on I agree with you that was like no they realized now we don't know when he's in NBA like this is what we do and you saw them like and I agree overcome the mental hurdle.
To me I think the game that is even more pivotal the game for was last night and the reason why I say that is Indiana's best player Halliburton was clearly not himself nobody knew that he was injured until after the game and you know everybody was saying you know you have the campus down there right but in that game they were down I want to say as much as like when I had to and it was down like 16 17 points and it cut it down to three and then her had a bad turnover they got out of they stuff and for me that's the reason why I say this is going to go seven because if you get zero points multiple turnovers from your best player and at some point you had it down to three with the ability to take it and steal it again if Halliburton is 65 70% of what he is and he plays let's say we're going to bump him up in extra 10 because he's at home and extra 10% they show in that game not are they going to win the series I don't know mainly because I again Q I agree with you I think that OKC has overcome the mental hurdle I think something that we that was not talked about a lot going into the series you know and I wish Nick was here because Nick was I know you know that number one team there maybe a mental dominant this then a third everything has a duality to it when you're that dominant guess what happens guess what you don't do you don't play in close games so you don't have that experience right to draw from oh close game right this is what we got to do this is our counter right like you're not comfortable we saw the first couple of games when it gets tight like that OKC wasn't comfortable I think that they found a comfort zone I don't think that they are now just world beaters where you know they're comfortable in the most pressure cook situations but I think that we're seeing them grow into that right before our eyes I think that's the beautiful thing about OKC but the last two seasons is that we're seeing them literally grow right before our eyes whether it's regular season postseason and now them being in the finals so that's why I think they're going to win the seven but I think that game six like I said in game hey they're going to have to come in and just choke them out they're going to have to put they put on their neck and get up 2025 and be like hey it's never it's never getting under 17 that's the only way that they went in Indiana I think for a good part of the series after they stole game one and definitely when Indiana was at home it looked like they had OKC show and the commentary you guys were talking about leak about OKC was starting to rear its head you know the experience and these pressure cookable moments that they were undergoing kind of that a little bit to what we're talking about people is that we haven't played a lot of close games so we're not as Jaylen put in the chat we're not battle testing but I think Denver you know Denver gave them some really experienced a lot of experience that they relied on and somebody they found a way to win and she had a big three in that game and yeah that was a bad travel they didn't call but he had already given them the lead before then you know that was just extra and he closed it out. It's not technically a travel roll. I got you I got you I hate the breaking team. I got you put was it.
It wasn't travel. I think they're talking together right. Yeah so your first step does not count and you're one to until the ball and the ball in your hand the ball in your hand touches the other hand once this happens then I have one to if you look at that when he you talk about like the setback right when he took that step that people would say that constitutes a travel the other hand then stop the ball so you cradle it you get an extra step. It's called a zero step I think.
It's a gather after crazy. You have the zero step because it's like if somebody like it's like art like a football spike let's say they're that there was traveling a football if I throw the receiver a ball and you can only take two steps with it right. If I'm Randy Moss and I catch the ball I haven't taken a step yet once the ball hits my hand the minute I catch it now it's one to be I'm saying you know I'm saying it's saying shit. I don't know where the hell you was going with that.
That was actually really good. You feel me? You feel me a little bit. Yeah but yeah but even going to game so game for I'm with you man that they own that game and you it happened when Obie topping got there and he missed two free throws I'm not going to let that go because that could push me to 12.
That's when the league came back that came back down to seven and they just fell apart in the fourth quarter and in game five yeah we didn't know Heliburton was hurt but it didn't really mean shit because he has a history of he's like a fucking sock ticker bro. He's up he's down he's up he's down so for what we've seen he just wasn't doing shit and my yeah and oh thank you Tweets Open Doors. Mathurin I think Rick Carlisle did not help himself in game five in game five in spite of OKC dominating that game. There was a moment where they came back and it was within three there was a moment they could have got it within four and then there was a moment down the stretch where they were right within striking distance Mathurin comes in the game and he just goes full but Lance Stevenson run our test on the court.
I don't know what the hell he was doing he just completely went nuts and and he missed two free throws as well that could have you never know we've seen some crazy shit happen in these games and then he just he just and it didn't happen so and then you know if Heliburton was hurt Rick Carlisle knows that what the hell is he on the court. He said he wouldn't come out. He said he wouldn't come out. Who's Heliburton they asked him that he said he wouldn't come out.
Who's the coach? He's the stock player can. If you want your job you got to stop play and do what they do. Heliburton.
I mean there's first of all this is all the wayways fault. Ever since the wayways said this man was a superstar this man has did everything to prove him wrong. Every single day he has let the way way down the way way he need to be like Elon Musk out there right now and delete it up tweets and he needs a tweet. I read some of my tweets went too far.
The last week that's what he needs to do right now about how I brought him. I think magic I think magic said it best about it. That's somebody that you want to go see when they in town. I'm not paying to go if you come play the Hawks I'm not paying to go see Heliburton but somebody gave me some free tickets.
That's why I'm very protective of the word superstar. When I think of super I always thought that it derived from super powers. It feels like it's got super powers. LeBron I feel like he's a Marvel hero.
He's a DC hero. I look at Kobe Bryant his ability to catch fire no matter who's hand is in his face. That's a super power. You know what I'm saying Shaq?
That's the fucking Hulk. When I look at Heliburton I think he's an all star. I think he's great. I think he's a great player.
But when we think there's different sweet stars all stars and superstars. I've always been the one to hold that line with Albern is great. Jellyn Bronson is great. SGA is great.
Super stars though. I guess people kind of started saying more towards the branding aspect of players. If they're pushed by the league then they're a superstar. I always thought that was just people who are in star roles.
We know the difference between a star actor and just a superstar mega star. You know what I'm saying? Prime 90s Will Smith is not the same as early 90s Don Chiho. Don Chiho's a star for sure.
He can carry a movie but Will is boxing. I think there is and then this is the last question we move on. I think there is a branding aspect to it. When it comes to them moving from NBA casuals, diehards to pop culture.
You're a household name. And the example I'm citing I will cite is Anthony Edwards. Because I can go and turn around and ask. Sometimes I say hey do you know this player and I do you know Anthony Edwards and she knows who Anthony Edwards is.
I ain't watching the basketball game in her life but she knows who he is. And there are certain players in the NBA that she knows based off just certain other things that happen which increases the marketability of a player I believe for the NBA if they were able to tap into it. And then from there it's up to the players to kind of add on to that to create this sort of mystique and start them in championships. I think it's up to the players in the league.
I don't think the league does a good job anymore of marketing and pushing for superstars. Even with the whole they changed it back to game five but just like the player introductions. They don't make it feel important anymore. Like we were talking about in the group chat.
The finals used to be a thing. I remember they may just be nostalgia. They may be old age someone but I remember like the 94 finals when Barkley and Jordan were getting announced and everything that's around it. You got the logo or the championship trophy on the floor.
They show in the trophy before the game. They veered away from all that. I think Cal or either Q said it's like it's like a regular Saturday NBA game. It don't even feel like the finals the way they're promoting it.
And that goes a lot into being superstars. Or building superstars. Just much more. I don't disagree.
I don't disagree. I don't care what I just think. I think because I see the chat. Marty McFly saying marketing is like 10% and 90% is your playing.
What he likes basketball. I'm talking about casual. I think even for the casual it's do you know like do the kids want to be him? You know what I'm saying?
Because even though Tyree's Halliburton has had way more success than this player than I'm going to name and the play doesn't necessarily or the winning doesn't constitute him being a superstar but because kids want to be him and his game when you watch him play. LaMello Ball. Oh my God. Let me ask my question.
LaMello Ball is a is I won't put him in a superstar status but he's definitely a star. I breathe his popularity is doing 2k people like me. He's a brand. He's a brand.
I was talking about earlier. I'm going to give you that. Is the remix baby? Yeah.
So let's close this out. If the Pacers lose on Thursday, how will this run be remembered if at all? My rap was run and I don't know if they're going to be able to keep this core together. I would if you can keep the core together there's there's an argument for both sides of one side can say yo we need to try to keep as much of this together because where's deep as them we can go further and all we need to do is just you know Halliburton get more of an offensive game tool and he's working on just being more aggressive and you know I mean just going through the summer and just drill drill drill.
Okay cool. There's also another side of people that would probably say it's advantageous for them to go get a third piece now. I don't really necessarily know where I stand on it but I think both have some logic to it because if you had like a Kevin Durant style player a guy who you can say go get us a bucket on the perimeter we got Pascal we got Halliburton as like quasi Jason kid with a better 3 point shot he's kind of like a Jason kid LaMello ball like hybrid it's kind of weird just in the way he plays the game but that wing player that they're looking for that draw some fear that to guard that draw some fear that Daniel Williams type at KD type that's who they need to go find if you're in that camp I would say I'm more so in the middle that you can kind of do a little bit of the two keep some contracts trade some guys and then take a swing on an older kind of cat like I would love to see like I don't even know just like a name I like this like a Zach Levine in this offense like just like I like that. You know what I'm saying just go get it you know what I'm saying and then we'll cover up on defense with two bigs like we've been doing so if they lose man they are in a crossroads and I think that both camps would have some logic and I think that you have to trust Indiana because they got this far with you know their brain trust.
So cute I don't disagree with you the only thing I will say is this I like the idea of keeping the core together but the reason why that's going to be impossible is somebody's going to overpay and you're not going to match it. Somebody's going to overpay for them hard somebody's going to overpay for double zero you know I'm bad with names like like those guys are going to get poached from other teams that's going to overpay them like I don't know if you all remember but like they labeled in a poison pill back in the day when Jamie Lynn was hot and I can't remember the team that signed them but essentially I want you to fix. What? No I remember that.
After they're in sanity. So they off the end with the rockets they offered him a poison pill where like year one he was only making eight million years two he was like ten million years three was like twenty some million like like I'm not saying that that's a type of contract in terms of like what I hope poison pill type of contract but there's going to be a team or teams that's going to overpay for those guys and if you're Indiana's it's not smart money so I think that the smarter move right now is to be in control of what you can control and some of those guys are still under contract and I think that you should move on from them and upgrade versus trying to keep it together because those guys are what they are you know saying like they're not going to get much better than what they are they are really good exactly they're role players you know can we say the championship role players you know they're they're defining that for their own career now but I wouldn't overpay for them I'd rather move on from them and go get a K.D. or whoever else you know Levine and some other players and just keep see how come in Tyree some be like hey you know what I'm saying even who's a big guy I like him too but but think about this right like the last three four years he's been in trade talks every year I think we will go ahead because I think that they do what FIFO says and they keep the main two together they keep posk out of the outcome and they keep Tyree Halliburton together whatever we can figure out from there I have trust in Ricardo he can coach team up and they can be back in this and I think Halliburton is that good I don't call him a superstar but I do think he's a really good point guard one of the few pure point guards in the league so throughout the year next year we'll continue to reflect back to this run and talk about how good Halliburton is because he's just a different set of player than we usually see in today's NBA so I think we'll remember this for a long time but just the game owners taking down New York going through all the teams they went through the performances the choke thing all that shit like this is going to be a memorable run whether they win or not and I think again with recall out being a coach they can coach this team back up to this they all got to pay luxury tax I'll have to pay these blue collar dudes y'all gonna make that extra money and teams over pay y'all to go elsewhere that's fine I do think recall I was one of the better or best coaches in the NBA to say okay I got these two who are my guys y'all give me a new group of guys let me coach them up to and it being successful so yes we'll remember this one because I think the essence of this one will be on future teams is from how they perform alright can you see yeah hold on real quick you know I know we just had a superstar conversation in terms of sorry Salibur and even though I agree I don't think he is one you have to mention his name in potentially becoming one because of all of the iconic moments that he has had in this postseason remember we talked about it can like superstars especially guys that are transitioning into that space you got to have moments and we cannot say that Tyree's hasn't had the most moments on anybody trying to get into that tier of player like that and I agree with Spike like that's the reason why we're gonna remember this run because of who he knocked off in the fashion that they did it yeah nobody gonna remember this shit y'all they're gonna remember this shit y'all I think I think so because the East is gonna be wide open for a minute like I don't you know I mean like Boston like as much as we look at Boston as young puffs and shit those kids are gonna be 30 and like they're gonna know yeah like like like Ben Caro and Franz are like the next wave of kids who should be coming into their you know moment Indiana right now they got grown like this is not like a bunch of kids on one team this is a team of you know mid 20s early 30s guys so it's like this is the moment and I think that you're gonna be talking about this for at least the next two three seasons because how he's gonna be competing like we don't like I keep saying you don't know who the fuck these gonna coach the Knicks you know I was gonna have with Milwaukee you know I was gonna have in Philly and it's like everything else is like Cleveland do you really fear them and it's Orlando Detroit and Indiana that look like they have the most ability going forward which is crazy can't predict a nation would definitely be Indiana at Madison's with Lord absolutely that's definitely going to be Christmas day if they don't do it then it's just more in Diamond and a baby yeah all right if you all say so look this was a great Cinderella run I do agree with it we had a lot of moments come out of it but that calf has just come off the paces and they had them up a grown Halliburton calf so it's a wrap anyway let's listen as Adam will be right back with some interview talk if you are a fan of gaming then you need to check out dead in gaming. Dead in gaming brings you honest reviews hilarious moments and deep dives into the conversations take place in the industry no sugar coating just real gamers gaming check out dead in gaming the world's most dangerous game crew on twitch or YouTube just look for dead in gaming atl that's dead in gaming atl alright man the Kansas City Chiefs have dominated the AFC for the last season's however after their blowout loss all saw saw in the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles you make some believe that their window may be over is there a lead is there a team in the AFC that the Chiefs should be fearful of or that could stop them from getting back to the Super Bowl what is more likely to happen is upcoming season's huge more matches were both or the Chiefs not winning even winning the division it's it's a crime in the division this is insane and I read this is like Nick would not be on I have to put in a question of like this as long as the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes I've been saying it for three years straight and people have doubted all you got the receivers Travis Kelsey getting old and he even like no bro we're watching the best quarterback to ever play the game played in this era and he's always going to be in Super Bowl contention I don't care how they play in a regular season I don't care how good their division gets none of that matters because Patrick Mahomes is that good I don't care that the Raiders got better I don't care that this coaching this division is elite coaching division they claim now that doesn't matter what we've seen over the last two years when people have counted Kansas City out and they still make the Super Bowl win our loss still made it there their teams in the AFC like they still gonna be like to the Bills who probably is the most or Baltimore Kansas City still a boogeyman like y'all still have to beat Patrick Mahomes I don't care how good y'all get y'all said that a goal in playoffs and either to arrowhead or him coming to your crib and feel comfortable in the thing I can beat Patrick Mahomes and I don't think no team in the AFC thinks that the Chiefs are still the favorites I do well okay so I do feel like this I do feel like that armory of invincibility the Kansas Chiefs no longer own that however I do agree as long as Pat Mahomes is under center you're always in contention same thing that Joe Burrough said with the Bengals like how long is it wrong with if I'm the quarterback we gonna be competing so I do agree there now I do think that the division is harder I do think they still win it but I do think they do take more division losses I don't think that they're the number one seed in the AOC next season you know what I'm saying but are they gonna play on one seed this year yeah they wouldn't let me know yeah because they lose like three games or like two games yeah you know what I'm saying so they were the number one seed do I foresee that happening in the future know because I think the division is tough for the AFC West again with those head coaches that you name all of those teams in the AOC West play like the way their head coaches want to play right we see Pete Carroll and I don't know if you all heard all of the you know all of the players talking about how much energy he got in this end of the third if we know Pete Carroll we're gonna do he won't run the ball he won't know turnovers which is why he got Gino and that defense is gonna be better than what it was last year that's gonna be a tough out.
Jay's having a great career. Is that what we're talking about is that do the Chiefs fear people is that what Grasky? No not at all. Are they still winning as a week like can you still pitch in the mean as a playoff team?
playoffs yeah Super Bowl know of course I mean of course this is like as long as you got Jordan on the team like you don't do something you know saying even if you think that the pieces around him are not like what they should be. The difference is that the Philadelphia Eagles formula is not is not replicable for a lot of teams because of cap and because of drafting as well it's not about like I mean not even that just like you have to be incredibly deep on the defensive line you got to have two really good wide receivers you got to have a running back have a historic season to be a running threat just you know make the Chiefs look how we know made them look like we had so many things in our favor that other teams simply just don't almost embarrassment of riches compared to what the Chiefs had I mean compared to what the well really the Chiefs do but in terms of their competition the Bengals no defense Baltimore still not fearing their skills positions in any way like the Andre Hopkins they are saw him to practice every game with chief Lashing and I fear him the otherwise they probably would have tried to resign the Chargers sure you could say that they might get one or two games they might even sweep Chiefs in the regular season because of how Chiefs margin of victory was so small in certain games last year and miracle field goals phantom calls or whatever you want to say but at the end of the day when it comes down to it if Andy Reed and Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes have the ability to take it week by week in the playoffs I just it all comes down to brain trust so much of sports is one off the field and I mean that in every sense but so much of sports is one off the field especially with your exes and o's and when you have just such incredible minds there and synergy like that with Kelsey who's clearly top three tight in ever Mahomes clearly top five by most people if not all should be top three for all but in the Andy Reed you got to put them top top top 10 coach so you have these things and then spags and not you know not going to be a slouchy go back on the Hall of Fame as well so you have Hall of Famers all across the board in synergy you're never going to be discounted it might be a tougher road like I said but if you look at the their competition they don't have what the Eagles had in the Super Bowl they don't have a say going Barkley they don't have that so you know Josh Swett all these people being able to rush for and get home every time who really has that and I think that the Chiefs are going to be prepared for those type of you know copycats because they drafted like it in my opinion well I don't think the white could copycat what Philly has been able to do that whatever it's like that D line is ridiculous you know what I'm saying and obviously they've had a couple of super highly rated players just fall to them in the draft and that's why they're D line in their front seven is as dominant as they are the Chiefs online still isn't good it's they traded arguably their best old lineman this offseason to the Bears you know what I'm saying I know they drafted a guy and they moved somebody from inside outside from guard to tackle that being said their weakness is still their weakness and if they fly against it that online that online is a weakness and if they play against a team that has a first seven that is ferocious again I don't think nobody has one as good as Philly but if you play against the Rams or you know like some some of these other squads that's going to be an issue and that's the reason why I think that again Spike I agree with you as long as my home's at the quarterback you got a chance but I can't pencil them into the Super Bowl I'll pencil them into playoffs but the Super Bowl I think in the AFC is why open up would you cancel them into the division yeah I will continue to pencil them in until somebody detents them because I think somebody has told me they can beat them twice and win at the division because the Broncos in the charges had 10 plus wins and we I think you can pencil in the Raiders for three more wins than what they had last year so it's going to be tighter naturally but until one of those teams takes that seven is like yo we are better than you I'm not going to pick against the Chiefs in the division are the Raiders still hanging up my home's voodoo dogs let's do about those what I don't know that thing I don't know the little thing they had in my home's in the off season last year and what was he a coach named in training and the black guy I can't think of his name yeah he carried out that bullshit he doing real coaching shit yeah look Travis Kelsey is a year old man like he ain't the same guy and he didn't do a lot of building out last year like people thought he was gonna do like he showed up in some games but they didn't find a place for him they still went to the Super I which Travis is declined and the reports are now he's lost weight he should be quicker he's leaning back into that workhorse mentality for his last one to two years I think last year you just got kind of sidetracked with you know he's been a regular swip kid yeah yeah he's smart anyway never yeah what do you mean he's proposing he should be proposing this your problem because like what are the reports about Xavier where is he he's got no but again I don't even think it matters I mean where is he yeah anyway he's good enough spags is good enough my home is good enough to where we keep these positions serviceable like we always got a chance there's no other team in the AFC that I would say that for other than the Chiefs just because Patrick Mahomes is that good and we've seen him do it time after time I know Bartimos got him better and I would expect Lamar Jackson to take that leap at some point but I'm not confident in it just like I'm not confident in Josh Allen doing and those are the two I would say closest contenders to him and in the third one out would be the bingles we're borrowing we see how that could go because of like how they want to make Ricky's like they got Ricky's opting out of contracts before he even started no no no no no no no no no no no no I don't want to get that in the rundown so with that being said as far as how organizations are being ran unless there's some sleep between like that's what I'm saying it's great or I can't even think of I don't even know in the AFC who could like break through the ranks and let's can't award is really good you know I don't see it what it would it would have to be like the only the only the only thing that you would have like going teams I see in order from fearing if you're the Chiefs fear the most to the least the Chiefs I've always been the closest to beating you so I would say dare like number one on like the right I'm sorry the Buffalo Bills are number one for the Chiefs just in terms of they've come the closest but we've always slayed them at the end of the day it's not like we're like so they're probably out of them at like a six or seven Baltimore eh you know what I'm saying the likely you know money like you know I'm saying step on the line Katie's toes I shit that was cool but it's like I don't think if you're a Chiefs that you look at that like well it was the first game of the season we were just kind of like trying to you know find our footing and if they see us mid-season or in the playoffs week we got them we embarrassed them at home in Baltimore third what I want to reorganize that I would say second is Cincinnati but they're only off the virtue of their weapons and Joe Burrow third would probably be Baltimore and then everyone else is distant you could probably throw like Pittsburgh in their fourth that's how bad it is like you know I'm saying AFC I would I would say he would go into their own division only because your own division is gonna know your tendencies right like and then again because they have they all four of those teams have Hall of Fame coaches you know um really they start playing you know Pete Carroll the other uh Harbaugh like to me and I agree it's those three teams and then it's a distant fourth but I think the fourth would be one of those teams in the division. All right well we'll be back to talk about Ricky and Ricky I'll look right after the sweet break. Being almost two months removed from the 2020 NFL draft we now have time to revisit the top 10 picks and discuss our predictions for how they will fare as rookies which rookie from the top 10 do you believe will have the most impact on their team 2025 and we only do on the top 10 so they don't stay shit about should do it. I'm gonna call me out like get you out of the state. Uh uh top 10 picks man the one that's gonna get the biggest impact I would say it's I think it's gonna be a dual car and I hate saying that as a Cowboys fan but with the help that he has from banks and my other guy I can't think of the tackle name right now uh whatever his name is but they wish him a footage of him and training camp I'd been watching some training show camp stuff that front forward at the Giants guy is reminiscent of when they went on a Super Bowl runs if Abdul Carter is as good as advertising he's looking like it in training camp so I think he's going to have the biggest impact that front four for the Giants is gonna be a problem for everybody that they play. Mainly the NFC East I'm terrified of that and if I had to go to one person I thought wasn't going to perform the hyperbolic me once you say cam war but I do like his attitude and I think that he will be able to do some intensity so I go with the easiest answer and go with Mason Graham from the Browns.
Terrible pick yeah terrible pick he could all right he could have seven sacks of season and I still feel like that was a disappointment because they could have did something with that pick that would have been that would have resulted more in a Mason Graham I don't like shit or not. Yeah like you said it but no just like they could have did a lot more with that pick and to settle on net defensive type I seen a couple of Michigan games this year building job off the page at all of the top 10 pick and for them to settle with him to pair with Miles Garrett and it just don't work I feel like he's going to be the biggest disappointment. Because of how they use them I was like yeah like and also yeah but no just because of the offensive system with P.K. I think Gen T's gonna have the biggest like God he numbers like I think Abdul Carter he's gonna have a great year I just think that long term Abdul Carter is gonna win out that but in terms of right for this year to answer his question Gen T because he's gonna be like the more shot-lunch for that thing.
I agree I think if we're talking impact I think the biggest impact we're going to see is going to be Ken Ward because the Tennessee Titans have been lackluster at quarterback for shit since since Steve McNair let's be honest Steve McNair they've been lackluster not saying that they haven't had you know the Kerry Collins of the world and the ten of him is young you know saying but those guys were lackluster like they never wore you know that guy and I think Ken Ward is going to be that guy not saying that that he's going to make me to a playoff contender year one but I think that we're going to see enough jump off that page that's like oh snap this man a wide receiver these are alignment or tight end or running back and it's like you're gonna have to contend with this guy for a long time so I think he has immediate impact one other person I will say and I don't disagree with you swag whatever but I'm gonna say Travis Hunter I don't know if you all been seeing the reports from um from in-campus stuff he's dominating literally offensive defense like he's literally dominating so I think that that uh and again we've never seen nothing like that to see how many snaps he gets on both sides of the ball but Jackson bill his media wide receiver help and they need to be be helped so it's a two for one so I think Travis Hunter is gonna have major impact on that squad so okay uh I think the Panthers receiver is gonna be trash I can't even say his name oh you don't think milling will be hard see it see man can you be right milling will be good can't that's my speaker that's my sleeper after so often a town that can go to an organization and they can be trash but it's religious organization just it's not gonna do it's a success like I don't know man like when Adam feeling is like able to go to your organization and be the primary receiver they got horned to know like they revamped the position I sure I mean sure but what's his name legged it doesn't look like he can catch for like they use that and then it gets more of a prop to speak and actually like show you highlights like yo say something yeah but they got you guys they got you guys in this draft that I think could really play ball not saying that Jimmy Horn is a number one wide receiver but he's a burner you know say a minimum you know he could take over the top and then team act spike the guy you like he has the he has the qualities of a number one wide receiver because he has the temperament or the mentality that's yet to be determined but we're looking at the physical package he has right on the ball that's going to be the problem you know what from what I see from Bryce Young after the benching he showed me something yeah yeah I don't think Bryce Young is no longer the overarching issue it's going to be ownership first and then head coach and then scheme you know but I do think that they put their best foot forward this offseason to make Bryce's game or make his job as easy as possible I do think they help the mountains obviously if I you know crazy if I could swap two QB's who need like not just on some like fantasy dominant you know team type shit but guys that truly need new scenery I will swap Miami and Carolina's QB's I mean immediately I feel like I feel like Bryce Young would benefit from Josh what's his name you know Josh McDaniel's and I feel like to it would benefit from just having no eyes on him just like yo just go and play football and like the pressure of Miami seems like it's just too much for him bro personally too many big stars over there nobody in Carolina's established when I feel his name like he's a deep water always theoretically a supposed to be a star like you know what I pay receiving the lead yeah when you have that you told your performance I think that's too much for too you know what I'm saying and now they're putting expectations on them but I was swapped them so easily just so you need to be in this offensive system because they can help you grow and then you just go chill like that's a good scenario right there I think that that would be fantastic for both of them like you get Bryce Young down in Miami with because the same thing you're saying it's too much for too I think Bryce Young needs that like being in Carolina is like to run like a hammer I've been in like I've been in the U.S. line now playing in Carolina with like what's the what's the doing? I'm playing with Adam Dean right now I think Bryce Young would be rejuvenated going to Miami and I feel like too it would be more comfortable in Carolina yeah I feel like that's a great one all right up next power rankings all righty so um we have graphics and uh I've got these things to gel in a little late now I have time all right that's cool all right so um you know I've been doing a position by position all timers right so we're still at it but now I'm ranking the most underrated point guards of all time I don't want no flat for nobody on this panel because none of the uply point guard just listen to your boy because I know I'm right all right let's go at number five I got mark price most underrated point guard of all time at number four Nick Van Exel under the right point guard at number three Kenny Anderson left the crazy guy at number two Rod Strickland was a major problem and at number one my mood I do row changes name and everything yes sir not even Chris Jackson my mood I've do that dude was you watch Steph Curry now he was Steph Curry back then he just didn't have the volume of those shots you know like he back then you were taught as a point guard get to the basket settle for or to shoot the open three um even though that that was the underpinning of his game the range he had was unlimited it just it wasn't accepted back then to shoot 10 threes from 30 feet like it is today but if he played in today's game it be him and Steph right who the best point guard between him and Steph um and then I will give you guys on like a number six um a guy that I wanted to work in there but I didn't feel he was better than these guys that I named they miss out of my that's underrated it's a little day that's a lot of my Arizona um that's a that's a good list I remember when I played video games I like basketball more heavily I used to play with the trailblades it's just to play the rostrich the rostrickland was my fuck I loved rostrickland the fact he was so tall and we're still like so all he had all the skill points he told rostrichland was barely six feet I thought he was like six two six three right but we really I'm eleven six foot six you're like the tall boy so so you're going to so you're just going with guys like we don't really get like any flowers from anybody right now yeah yeah yeah yeah just underrated people talk about him enough shit man in terms of just like the short window yeah like I'm not gonna be like six three four six three oh yeah I think but just but just in terms of like the short like you know short windows for guys that had like a little run not like they were premier guards but just guys I was respected at the point of our position um Jamal Tinsley and JJ Marrini those three to four year runs when they were on Dallas and they were Milwaukee Jamal Tinsley and JJ Marrini they played such pivotal roles in their team success as well so I gotta give you some respect yeah Jamal Tinsley is a point guard point guard he is I would say he was in the mode of Mark Jackson and saying I'm not gonna do too much flashy stuff um everything I do is rooted in fundamentals even though I may look flashy but I'm gonna back you down I got you would have crossover I might do no look but just very fundamental to Marr Tinsley was really good for the Indiana Pacers and then um who else did you say I said it did you get a right I did a little bit more. How did you know that you know he didn't he is definitely underrated when you look at um his stats you know say he's up there to assist uh and underrated score of of the ball um but going back to JJ JJ the best way I could quantify his game he was timely like the sortest dude on the court would make the biggest play for you JJ you know what I'm saying I would love to I would love to see you do a list of like like conceptually around like you know right talent wrong era guys you know what I'm saying because I always think about John Starks and how like I think John Starks would actually eat way more in today's league as being you know beefier guard really just give him the green light yeah John Starks was so underrated to me and I know that he didn't get the love he deserved because of Patrick Ewan in Jordan's era but it's like Starks to me is also one of those guys as well that just like put him in today's league like new to all the technology that we got now like get that bill to the NBA he'd be terrorizing dude you know what cute off the top of my head just thinking about that list the number one person that I would you know obviously I was sitting down if I made the list but just coming off the top of the don't rate I was broke because people forget of supersonic's rate that was yammin off over and I was just talking about him and walking right too but you know he was cradling backwards like he he was an attacker of the basket he had athleticism you know so I feel like people just remember to mind he ran a Boston ring and it was like no bro if young Ray would have played an NBA now we were literally calling him jesus he different fact let me ask you this before and Derral Williams was a good one shelled in the chat that was really new um not even from a role standpoint but two of my favorites from a college standpoint it never really panned out in the pros was that I mean from you car I mean and my team cleaves those are two of my like those were real deal point guards in my eyes as far as I'm out of their way but I'm gonna make sure that I'm out of their way to that group that I felt you know played very similar hey coda ordered chunky put past first point guard you know what I'm saying a lot of moxie about him you know what I'm saying yeah he definitely fit in that group but he had it then boys ain't doing that in NBA it was too athletic form and I can't go out in the title these but it was just too athletic for me it was a little too perchy Kevin Johnson yeah he was from me but I don't feel like he was underrated I feel like he's adequately rated I think he gets the flowers he deserves but I don't think maybe he was underrated for his era but I don't think he's underrated all time if that makes sense because he was the best player on the science team to the bar because yeah that was people in a time chamber one last name people do you think who coach in today's NBA will be different yeah the only thing that I would hesitate about kuko's was the athletic ability we're talking 611 can handle can shoot 3's can post up got vision did he play in the wrong era because I look at Bo delis in Chicago right now with the similar bill that he's killing I'm like but he's more athletic than kuko but they may be coming based on it we feel it on folks yeah kuko's never had that but I think kuko's is one of those guys that could play in any era he could have played in the 60s and he could play today because you know who to me who coach is just less athletic he's a marota just a less athletic marota you know marota's underrated super underrated I feel that press no t shout out to the press of t member for 41 months that's what's up speaking of four guards look where CP3 is all time assist then look where he is all time and turnovers is insane it is so according to google ai uh chris ball has 12,000 point at a night knock rear assist and only 3,093 career turnovers that's 41 three to one four to one ratio four to one four to one assist the turnover ratio we didn't do that c'mon they got nasa i needed didn't yeah that is insane though that's cool yeah i do i remember that summer well really but not in summer like those two years where it was cb3 or darin william cb3 or darin williams who like more i always like darin will cross over with darin williams darin will you scrub it his cross over was crazy but like cp it was the defense of it and it had to heal darin williams had to build like and i get in the paint and i'm like going down here like you're not gonna stop me bro remember like oh six cover oh eight like it was it was darwin's and cp and then right on their heels before the injuries brainer roy i fucking hate that because brainer world was coming dude yes all right that is the show um next to make you got one more uh you got one more superchap from green beans oh it's over on the star to say there you go okay uh oh no no we were that was last year oh we did it okay got you guys yeah you're saying we're listening to this show yeah yeah yeah we already did that one yeah it's about to be usa versus the world in real life so you know yeah that's why i keep you running up there's something right now enjoy enjoy enjoy you know what i ran so we got some shit there's something out of there it's a night oh oh he said i ran no nigga you ran you run oh but everybody be safe man we know we also made a national league to be big but uh all right man i'm gonna do something about this computer anyway by next Tuesday we'll have a good year you have me all right yeah all right all right so everybody stay tuned and until then we are out peace be easy
