Eric Kam is the Smart Factory Solution Strategist and Immersive Experience Community Manager for ESI Group. He supports their Immersive Experience (Virtual Reality) solution IC.IDO and its application to Product Development Engineering Integration, Virtual Build, and Virtual Maintenance . He is an vocal advocate for ongoing digital transformation in Computer Aided Design, Finite Element Analysis, and Computer Aided Engineering. He has spent the bulk of his 20+ year Mechanical Engineering career promoting the democratization of previously "analyst driven" simulation technologies to bring the benefit of Virtual Engineering tools to engineering and manufacturing practitioners themselves. He is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He mentors competitive high school robotics and blogs on the topics of manufacturing engineering and technology.
