Sunday 9-19-2021Scott HowardLife Church of MobileSo many are looking for a “there” they can miss the “Along the Way”… The Bible is filled with people who had dreams and had many struggles and setbacksbefore their God-ordained destiny manifested…but achieved great fulfillment along theway.Think of all the things that happened in the Bible “Along the Way”…David was in a dead-end job with no end in sight…tending sheep and delivering cheese…Hisfamily saw him only as a sheepherder and delivery boy….even after he was prophesied over….He is taking food to his brothers…That wasn’t his ultimate calling…Don't confuse purpose with task…. Sometimes we have to do many tasks that don't seemto completely aligned with our purpose.Most of Jesus' miracles happened along the way… John 4…Jesus is headed to Galilee…stopsoff in Samaria…sits down at a well…and has a prophetic encounter with a woman …thedisciples are acting like why are you wasting time doing this…she starts telling everybody aboutwhat happened…MANY believed in Him…they talked Him into staying 2 more days…It’samazing what can happen along the way…Jesus is passing through a place on an important assignment – go to Jerusalem and prepare forthe coming crucifixion…Mark 10:46-52... Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciplesand a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47Ruth came into her destiny step by step staying faithful to Naomi and then later workingout in the fields picking up leftovers…None of this is possible in isolation…The church is anointed… The church belongs to Jesus…and…The church isESSENTIAL…Hebrews 10:19-25…“Therefore, brethren, having boldness [ a ] to enter the Holiest by theblood of Jesus, 20  by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil,that is, His flesh, 21  and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22  let us draw near witha true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscienceand our bodies washed with pure water. 23  Let us hold fast the confession of our hopewithout wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24  And let us consider one another inorder to stir up love and good works, 25  not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see theDay approaching.”Consider…have concern…Forsaking…leave behind, abandon…The choice is ours as to what spirit we align ourselves in and what spirit we move in.Let us partner with His Spirit to see a greater move of unity, love, honor, healing, blessing, andrestoration released across the body of Christ…and the demonic spirit of covid defeated.Being Christian in America is becoming increasingly an “all or nothing” proposition.The Church/Kingdom Culture in Acts...Filled with the Holy SpiritStudied the scripturesFellowshipped togetherAte togetherPrayed togetherExperienced increase and favorHealed the sickChallenged governmental authorityChallenged religious systemsPut in prisonPreached the crucified and resurrected JesusExperienced supernatural manifestations including being transported from place to placeWere persecuted and ridiculed for their faith and told to stop preaching and teachingInstead of obeying they prayed for greater boldness (boldness is not just being obnoxious)Raised people from the dead* Full Sermon Notes Available on our AppCheck out our app, Life Church Live:Available on Google Play & App StoresGiving: life-church.org/givingBaptism: https://www.life-church.org/ihavedecidedYouTube ChannelMobile Campus FacebookHurley Campus FacebookInstagram
