Detroit Tigers lose to New York Yankees as Aaron Judge and the Yankees avoid the sweep and salvage one game. Jack Flaherty started on the mound for the Tigers and was brilliant tossing 5.1 shutout innings while striking out 9. Tyler Holton gave up a two-run home run to Ben Rice, while Aaron Judge hit a two-run single off John Brebbia to make it 4-0 in the 9th. Colt Keith made a costly error in that ninth inning that kept the inning alive for the New York Yankees. Detroit Tigers did not go quietly in the bottom of the ninth plating three runs thanks to Zach McKinstry.
