Deuteronomy 31 & 32

from Perfectly Imperfect Together · host Perfectly Imperfect Together

In Deuteronomy 31 & 32, God's people are reminded repeatedly to not be afraid, to be strong and courageous, and to not panic before our enemies. He reminds us that God will personally go ahead of us and will not fail or abandon us. He reminds God's people of the importance of fearing God and remaining in awe and reverence of Him and who He is. God knows Israel will turn their backs on Him and still leads them into the land He promised them. God knows everything we will ever do, and still desperately wants a relationship with us. Our relationship with God is not based on our performances. On our own, we break every one of God's commands. We are the opposite of God's amazingly good and just character. God gave us eternal atonement because He loves us. That is it. He desires us and chooses us. ALL of us. God gave us Jesus so our relationship with Him could be open and available. God deserves our worship, not because of anything to do with us but because of everything He is. God is awesome, we are not. God gave us Jesus so we too could be awesome but only through Him. God is such an incredibly good Father.
