Beginning from her upbringing in Kaua’i, Hawaii to discovering her voice in New Zealand. Deva’s star continued to rise in New York City where in 2018, she released her aptly named debut album, RUN DEEP, followed by a series of singles and independent releases in 2019. She has distinguished herself as song writer by being a finalist for the 2021 Apra Silver Scroll and the 2019 A2IM Indie Awards; as well as providing her original composition and performance to open the 2020 Biden/Harris inauguration and 2021 rally for Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. And, she's worked with a number of international musicians; as well as local heroes we know and love. We talk about her childhood, barriers in the music industry, her performance for the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris inauguration, working with the World Of Wearable Arts, and much more!This interview took place on 20/12/2023
