DEVELOPING AN UNBLEMISHED MIND

from Sutta Meditation Series · host Sutta Meditation Series

Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast. This is the Dhamma session on "Developing an Unblemished Mind", which was was conducted via zoom. We deep-dive into Venerable Sāriputta and Venerable MahāMoggallāna’s teaching in the Anaṅgaṇa Sutta (MN 5). In this teaching, Venerable Sāriputta spoke of four persons - with and without blemishes and knowing it and not knowing it - explaining which were called inferior and superior using a simile of a bronze dish. He then gives a masterclass on evil, unwholesome wishes associated with anger and bitterness as blemishes, with some powerful similes to help us understand how to develop an unblemished mind. And Venerable MahāMoggallāna contributes as the questioner to Venerable Sāriputta's clarifier in this teaching, as well as providing a comprehensive summary at the end rejoicing in Venerable Sāriputta's instruction to the bhikkhus.Blessings of the Triple Gem.
