Devotional 77: Sweet Boast
from Free Range Preacher on Prayer Hosted by Fred
Bragging is sin, but in faith, we are thoroughly admonished to boast. We can be thankful for our boasting. Jeremiah 9:23-24 23 Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; 24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD. By His mercies, we boast all day long. John 17:3 3 “And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent. And since He bids me seek His face, Believe His Word and trust His grace, I'll cast on Him my every care, And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!"
