DEVOTIONAL: SEEING BEYOND THE SELF LIFE. MATTHEW 16:24-25

Let's not reduce our spiritual pursuits to merely solving problems or meeting needs. While it's common to seek God in times of necessity, we mustn't make our needs the sole objective of our spiritual journey. Our ultimate pursuit should be to know and please the heart of God.Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. 25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.…Needs are an inherent part of human existence, and God has promised to provide a way through life's challenges and temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13). However, if we focus solely on our needs, we risk building our lives, calling, and purpose on a flawed foundation.Instead, we should strive to look beyond our immediate needs and press into the heart of the Father. This means seeking a deeper understanding of His character, nature, and desires. By doing so, we can cultivate a more intimate relationship with God, one that is rooted in pleasing Him and not just solving our problems.
