(=To play tennis is fun.) 「不定詞の名詞的用法」と「動名詞」は似ています。 ですので、どちらでも同じように使える場合もありますが、 ニュアンスがちょっと違うことがあります。 特に、これらが目的語になるときには注意が必要なので、 Nobuo先生にならってまとめます。 ①動名詞だけを目的語にとる動詞がある！→mind, give up, enjoy, suggest, finish, etc. ②不定詞だけを目的語にとる動詞がある！→decide, promise, hope, etc. ③どっちも目的語にとる動詞がある！→start, begin, continue, intend, etc. ④どっちも目的語にとれるけど、動名詞と不定詞でニュアンスが変わる動詞がある！ →try, remember, forget, stop, etc. ④に関しては、 動名詞を使うと、既にしたことや既にしていることというニュアンス。過去志向。 不定詞を使うと、これからすること、まだしていないことというニュアンス。未来志向。 ・英語de名言 We had no idea what we were taking.
