It's so easy to convince yourself that you love what you're doing — who wants to admit that they don't? When I think about it, the happiest and most successful people I know don't just love what they do, they're obsessed with solving an important problem, something that matters to them. They remind me of a dog chasing a tennis ball: their eyes go a little crazy, the leash snaps and they go bounding off, plowing through whatever gets in the way. I have some other friends who also work hard and get paid well in their jobs, but they complain as if they were shackled to a desk. ・Session 4 A-side 今回は、Problem/Solution Essayを解説します☆ そして、ノブオ先生のノートを拝借してきました♪ Problem and Solution Essayは、 ある問題があって、それを解決する解答を答える時に用いる方法です。 現在の問題は何かと言う事を明確にして、それに対する解決策を提示していくものです。 世間にある問題に対して実際に実験やアンケート、調査を行った結果を論文に書く際に用いられる方法です。 問題に対する具体的な解決策を提示して、なぜそれが適切なのか、なぜ他の案では無くその案が良いのか、根拠や例を述べて説明していく必要があります。 Problem and Solutionの質問例： When students move to a new school, they sometimes face problems. How can schools help these students with their problems? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer. 「学生が新しい学校に移る時、彼らは時に問題に直面する時がある。彼らの問題に学校はどのように援助をする事ができるか？これについて具体的な理由と例を用いて答えなさい」 Introduction: 生徒が学校を移る時に解決されるべき問題がある。 Body: (Problem) 1. 友達ができにくい 2. 勉強についていけない 3. 新しい学校のルールに馴染めない (Solution) 1. クラスでのイベントを企画する（自己紹介や、ホームルームを拡大する） 2. 補講できる先生を付ける(Supplementaly lessonを設ける） 3. オリエンテーションやカウンセリングの体制を準備する Conclusion: 上記の問題について、それらに対して学校は対応をする必要がある。 より簡単な例で説明したいと思います。 「短期的に、のび太の成績が上がるにはどうしたら良いか？」 Introduction (Thesis Statement): のび太の成績が上がる為には、短期的な視点で見れば暗記パンを用いるべきだ Body: 問題: (Who?)のび太 (What?)成績が悪い (Why?) 勉強が嫌いな為、集中力が無い為、すぐ遊びに行ってしまう為 解決策： (Attempted Solutions) 暗記パンを用いる (Results) 短期的にのび太の記憶力が上がり成績が上がったConclusion: 上記の通り、短期的にのび太の成績を上げる為には暗記パンを用いるべきだ ・Session 4 B-side ここから 結構 難易度 上昇！TOEIC Part 3の攻略です。 一言で言うと「会話している二人は、誰で、どこで、何を話していて、次に何をするのでしょうか？問題」です。 一つの会話文に付き、設問は３つです。 実際のテストでは、会話文が流れてから、テキストにプリントされている設問が読み上げられます。 この設問に、会話文が始まる前の間で、目を通せるかどうかがポイントです。 目安としては、3つ目の設問が読み上げられるまでに、３つの設問に回答し、その後の8～10秒ほどのポーズの間に、次の会話文に関する設問に目を通せればOKです。 相当な集中力が必要ですが、頑張りましょう(^^ このセクションがほぼパーフェクトになれば、実際の会話もかなり聞き取れると思います★ ・Session 4 C-side Nobuo : Hello.
