Diamond Diehards: Riz & Dawg Game Companion for Braves at Mets Opener, MLB Season FINALLY Under Way

Joe Rizzo brings you baseball. The MLB season is FINALLY under way. Riz & Jeff "Dawg" Healy obliged with a game companion as the Mets hosted the Braves in the season opener for both teams. If you have the game on DVR or want to follow along, start in the third inning (the guys talk about it shortly into the episode). As usual, the Mets were playing well on Opening Day, and they have the best such record in MLB history. Jacob deGrom threw five scoreless innings and Mike Soroka matched him, plus added another inning. When Yoenis Cespedes hit the game-winning homer, Riz was tipped off and it made for the most memorable "live" moment in the history of Diamond Diehards. This episode also marked the end of an era in broadcasting, as Mike Francesa was set to do his final scheduled show on WFAN. Riz & Dawg went over Francesa's career and what he meant to broadcasting and, in recent years, to social media. This was a fun show which included whiskey! And the Mets went on to win (of course, because it's Opening Day!).
