In November 2023, Diane Yangwo—a brilliant 31-year-old language teacher at Ndogpassi Bilingual High School in Douala, Cameroon, and a devoted mother of three—lost her life. The cause of death was an internal abdominal haemorrhage, the tragic result of a severe physical assault by her husband, Éric Bekobe Mvondo.While her husband admitted to the crime, the real shockwave hit Cameroon in April 2025 inside the courtroom.
