Diaries of Women in Nazi Germany

from CEU Podcasts · host Andrea Pető

Sabine Grenz, professor for Gender Studies at the University of Vienna, talks to Andrea Pető about her research on gender history in the Nazi period through women's diaries. They discuss how, through ego documents,  people constructed the idea that “Opa und Oma waren keine Nazis” as part of a general amnesia about the Nazi past. Sabone Grenz served as a president of the German Gender Studies Association and she also talks about recent debates in gender studies in the country.
