Contact the Paladins of Podcast In this week's episode of SideQuests! join Rob and Eli, your trusty Paladins of Podcast, as they dive into the salty adventures of SaltCon in Salt Lake City, Utah. Eli finally meets Trent, the brilliant mind behind the Bonfire Roleplaying game, who just so happened to be a previous guest on the show. The excitement is palpable as they reminisce about his game's growth. But that's not all – Rob admits to a Discord foley that might surprise you. Did you know you can organize servers into folders? Well, Rob didn't, and he shares his newfound knowledge with the world. The duo then delves into Rob's strategy for dealing with burnout, taking a break from one gaming group to explore board games and card games with another. A player character's unexpected demise adds a twist to the tale, introducing the edgy Glaive Ironscythe. The anxiety is real, but the intrigue is undeniable. Their conversation takes an exciting turn as they explore the art of breaking combat mid-session for cinematic role-playing interludes to enhance the party's story. Rob encourages Eli to take the plunge and try it out. Finally, the clock is ticking as they discuss the importance of tracking time in their games just as the episode draws to a close.
