Did God Really Say We Have No Say in Our Salvation?

God’s choice can sound as though people should wait passively for a sign. On Paul’s storm-battered ship, God promised that everyone would survive, yet Paul warned that the sailors had to remain aboard. Their obedience did not replace God’s promise; God used it to carry out His saving purpose. Salvation never rests on flawless human obedience.
