Did Guilty Gear Strive Destroy Everything We Love About Guilty Gear?

ARE DEVELOPERS BEHOLDEN TO LEGACY PLAYERS?!? There is a lot of hate for Strive from legacy Guilty Gear fans. A recent article on Dexerto (https://www.dexerto.com/gaming/guilty-gear-strives-creators-had-to-destroy-past-games-to-keep-series-alive-2607380/) stated that Devs had to view Xrd as a failure that they had to "destroy" to make Strive. So is Strive actually a Guilty Gear game?
