This is the place where sports means a lot dead in sports. I'm your host. Can you be in joining me? We have Nick Shelton, FIFA, Q and Spike Liu.
I even try to get that to rock. Yeah, almost with the Q and the Spike Liu, bro. It was almost there. It was almost there.
But I'm not going to get from the Eagles for Q start dipping up. Keep in track. You guys want you to know. Keep an adult.
I love you. You can't leave. I'm going to be doing this on. I'm going to go to like.
So now you can't leave. But I know Q got the options. So I'm I'm keeping track. Why do you think you go say?
What was we doing? You go say because he petty is here. Yeah, I'm doing already. He's not talking about being done.
He's going to keep playing like this. I'm out next week. Oh man, a show starting off. I heard it.
I'm getting heavy already, man. Thirteen years in the game and bringing you hot takes and sports commentary. You know, online, man, we've been everywhere. Audio format, live radio, YouTube.
What's up? Well, he was talking about what we showed microphone before. Hey, man. Let's.
Somebody. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm not.
Anybody. I'm saying. Hey, Richard, we say before we start. I know, but that's funny.
That's what I'm saying. So it's about to say. I was going to say, I was going to say, I was going to say, I was going to let it go because I'm like, I'm just happy he got a better mic. Listen, man.
I was like, I know his mic was an album. Multi-color vibrate microphone. This is the CD microphone is insane. I was like, I was like, what do you get that from?
I just want to say, you want to know. I got to say, I got to say, I got a little E B. So I that took it, trying to figure out to hook it up. And I was trying to do the colors, just look it up.
I've been going to tell them is to all the stuff stuff about this but I can't get yet. I can't get it right actually, Madison microphone. I know about. Yeah.
OK, that man. Right. Right, but when I come with Kelan's, I'm gonna see Rob because we going to say you the print microphone. That's my brother's problem because it was perfectly perfect.
Yeah. My brother's a little bit. I was trying to make a state perfect, but I'm a high. If y'all know how to work, make it stop.
I don't know how to make it stop. Make it stop. I think you stop. Hey, if he put me in, man, they'll come as my chair, based off his takes.
That's a lot of them. When his red is going to be red, he's going to be red. Oh, God. Oh, Jesus.
All right. Oh, man. Oh, man. It's kind of a tough transition to our lead story of the day.
After all that. But yeah, basketball, Hall of Famer, the Kim Bay, Mutombo, passed away at 58 years old due to a long battle with praying cancer. So our IP to the Kim Bay, his family, all the loved ones and everything. Any favorite memories or moments you guys have of Mutombo that you want to share?
2001 Finals, for sure. Yeah. How's it going to be? I will see it around.
I will see it around. Yeah, for sure. That's what I'm saying. Just capping off the Sixers.
I think it's a revisionist history where people act like that team was trashed. And I think it was not trashed. We just ran into two of the greatest forces on offense the NBA's ever seen. We had defense player of the year, the Kim Mutombo, Rest in Peace.
Yeah, MVP, Allen Iverson. We had six million a year, Aaron McKee, coach of the year. Yeah, Larry Brown. So that team was amazing coming out of the East, but we just ran into Shaquille O'Neal, who was the greatest player in the world at that time and have might still have the greatest peak in NBA history.
Even then, the Kim Mutombo in Game 1 gave him everything he could handle on defense. Allen Iverson did the rest. We got one game and they didn't lose a game before they played us. So just that season, man, was very special and also the Allstate commercial.
I'm sure some guys will talk about that. But that was just a really fun, loving guy, good dude from when I heard from other people in Philadelphia just all the years being there. And it's just, it's just that man. He's very, very young.
Yeah, 58. I saw that. Yeah, I agree with you, just like a lot of great people have passed away in 2024. But the campaign, the campaign was one of those first international ambassadors that we saw in NBA, man, and he really gave back to his home country.
And I think he has one of the most underrated moves. I wish he would have had social media because he would have definitely been able to capitalize it with the finger wag. You know what I'm saying? All of your favorite or your uncle's favorite players and them guys because we older now.
But all of those guys got a finger wag at some point in time. You know what I'm saying? No, no, it wasn't just the commercial, man. He really earned that celebration.
But the campaign meant a lot for the NBA world. You know what I'm saying? So it's a big loss. But definitely first battle Hall of Famer.
You know, we know for defense. We know for shop blocking. We know for tenacity. One of the great Georgetown Hoyas of all time had that run of the centers.
You know what I'm saying? So now man, the campaign's legacy is literally untouchable, unblockable, I should say. One of the greatest ever do it, man. One of the best defensive picks ever, Grace this earth.
I'll be quick on my moment. I'll be quick real quick, Cheryl, my moment. It's as far as when he played for the Nuggets. Rob a pack was a point guard and they beat the Sonics.
It was a five game series. He played on the ground, farmed the ball. And that was memorable as hell to me. Especially with Matombo not being a dominant offensive force.
Like no one ever expected him to go give you 25 and 10. Like he giving you ten boys, he's going to five blocks. He's affecting the game on defense. And that's what the Nuggets needed him to do.
One of the first memorable eight versus one upsets as far as just my basketball knowledge and career goals. So that's my biggest memory. I'm going to tell him when the Nuggets upset the Sonics in the eight ones. Yeah, you still mind?
That's exactly what I was going to. That's why I want to go for you. I know that one. Or like Fifo mentioned, in the Georgetown, I actually saw him play at Georgetown and saw some of the things he was able to do.
So I played with more than that Georgetown. And those centers that came out of there, him, Lenzo, Odella Harrington, them guys with some monsters and John Thompson, rest in peace as well. He really got those guys set up for life. And he taught them to do what he did best.
And he really taught them about basketball and taught them a lot about life. And the Kim Bay, he was a major figure here in Atlanta as well. He kind of made his mark here with the Hawks in those teams. You knew the Kim Bay first.
So yeah, rest in peace, man. Like you said, all the things he did for his home country. And he was an ambassador. He stood for so much more.
He was bigger than his height. And that's saying a lot, man. That they rested peace in the Kim Bay. My thing was just, I mean, reading off his career highlights, because I feel like people, they talk about him, but we don't really, that's really thinking how great of a basketball player he was.
Eight time NBA All-Star, two time NBA All-13, four time defensive player of the year, three time NBA All-Defense first team, three time NBA All-Defense second team, all rookie first team, two time NBA rebound of leader, three time block leader. Like, and then if you go back to college, you'll have two time defensive player of the year for the East. Phenomenal, phenomenal Hall of Famer. But like, I think people mentioned earlier, humanitarian off the court.
He's from the Republic of Congo. And he definitely left an impact there. And he was like, people mentioned, at least me growing up was like the first really big ambassador of like an Africa in the NBA, like a superstar though, like where he can actually hang with the rest of the Americans. So I got cloned a lot in school when they say my talk about me being African, but nonetheless, he was still somebody that Africans could like buy into and to celebrate before we get to where we are today with how the game is international.
So his legacy is just, I mean, he just a legend all over from, I feel like it was crazy about him as a defensive player solely recognized as like he had that superstar quality, that international quality. And people regardless if you watch basketball, not know his name and know what his famous for. So it's just that 58 is just super young, you know, another thing for why people say fuck cancer, but 58 is just crazy young. Yeah.
Yeah. I think it's interesting here's the guy that, you know, is feared, you know, for, but as one of you guys mentioned, he wasn't like an elite offensive player, but everybody knew him and he was the one guy you didn't really want to challenge at the rim at all. I mean, he got everybody got Colby, you got Shaq, you know, you know, Gabe Robinson, you know, the list goes on. The players that he blocked that were foolish enough to try to go get him.
And you know, you look at his stats. I mean, his peak run was during the Denver in terms of blocks, 93, 94, 95. I mean, this man was averaging at the 93, 4.1 blocks a game and 95, 4.5. That's 4.5 and that's the average.
That's why that's insane. And then the year sandwiching between that was 3.9. That's insane. The number of blocks you're getting a game across a season.
So yeah, way too young, man. And I'm with you. I think I was wondering when people was talking about the no, no, no, man, could you even do that in today's game without a big, you know, all in. This is just, I think you just can't do these days that used to back then.
I think it's super, super hard to make a moment or to be known as something now than it was back then. I mean, as far as like a long lasting, not just like for three months, we just know you as this, like, it's like something that people remember. Like maybe the hawk to a girl, but we got to see. But I'm just like stuff like that, especially with sports.
Like I don't know what is the last, I think the last thing I recognize is probably what Ann Rogers discount double check, but you got your door. You should stop doing that motion right now. Yeah. I'm going to show the mic is crazy.
Exactly. Hey, yo. Yeah, don't go out of here. No, I'm not.
All those words are always. Hey, can they say somebody said it's a show and got to sit on his mic to turn it off. I can't say what I want to say because we want to send a kick away. Yo, y'all are insane.
I'm sorry, bro. It's comedy. I've been hoping that we're respectful because it's a little bit. We didn't.
We didn't. No, no, no, no. We didn't. They bought the moments with Jordan too.
He had a bunch of moments with Michael Jordan. That was pretty cool. They had some cool interactions and all of our games. And he did.
Michael, he never done. Michael did get him at one point. So that was cool to see. I'm going to my.
We are moving. Yeah. Yeah, I remember that. Right.
Yeah. Let's move on to the next topic. Marty has winners, but some will rank all time in, you know, defensive players. He has them at top 15.
Yeah, we're at top 10. He's top 10. He's top 10. I would have moved that.
Okay. All right. Cool. More basketball news before we get into.
Already. Already. I'm going to say you have to go. All right.
Best bet. I was right in the middle of football season. What are we talking about? Well, we're going from great defensive big in terms of defense to talking about another one that isn't known for his defense.
Carl Anthony towns over the weekend. The New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves made a blockbuster trade that was in Julius Randall. Dante, Divasen Joe and a first round pick from Detroit to Minnesota and New York will get Carl Anthony towns. I'm going to say a big per apparently.
What are y'all reactions to this rate? I just found out that that's what they call them, which is hilarious. Me and Ken already did a video earlier. So most people know my thoughts.
I'll say some other stuff later, but I want to hear everybody else's thoughts. But I will say this can ain't nobody in New York calling him that. That's the first thing I want to make sure. Maybe we're Sheldon's Mike is that.
Oh, yeah. I'm going to have my mic. That's the whole. That's the whole.
That's the whole. That's the whole area. My mic is insane. I'm on my way.
It's crazy. Absolutely. So I didn't think it was real for whatever reason all of a sudden. X and IG has so many fake accounts that I and you know, what was just reporting anymore.
So I'm like, wait, hold on. Is this for real? So initially, I don't like it from Minnesota because you know how I feel about Julius Rand. However, that first one I picked from Detroit.
Also the fact of who they drafted and who their pain made sense mainly for the money. The owner doesn't, you know what I'm saying? He doesn't want to go into that luxury tax. I think Julius only has maybe two years left on the contract.
One year left on the contract. One year. One year. He'll be able to come off of his money and get compensated in future draft capital with that.
So I like it from Minnesota standpoint because this was a money move. This wasn't a we're getting better move. This was just we're going to stamp hat because Julius can produce similar to cat. You know, I'm not saying he's better, but you produce similar place to get the future draft capital in his money for New York.
It feels like this is the definition of all in during the take notes. You know, they obviously, in my opinion, have over achieved, but now they're doubling down. You know, Janet Bruns are getting a big contract based off of his performance alone. You know, they're talking about he left over a hundred million on the table and now you're able to crazy.
So I'm not sure what the New York taxes like I don't know if you ever saw the breakdown, how much they actually get paid after agent fees and everything. That's me. That being said, because he took that type of discount, you can absorb somebody like cat, which is an improvement for that roster. Now, what I'm hearing is this.
He's not happy about reuniting with Fitbit though. So we'll see how that relationship plays out because you know what happens. Coaches go before players and they just got this guy. All that being said, I'm cool with the trade on both sides, but I like it more for New York because I think they got obviously the better player in the deal.
So I'm cool with it. Yeah. Similar thoughts. I think that I don't know if Minnesota necessarily punted this year, but I think that this is, it's not a double-edged sword because I can make the case that this is very smart organizational foresight because you want to be able to, whenever whatever free agents are coming up in a year or two, you want to be able to pair someone that's a marquee guy next to Antman.
So I can give them that and I can also say that it's a double-edged sword because what if, and then becomes a little bit unhappy this year, you're going to have to mend that in the off season, which is not going to be hard, but you go through a year where you've come out of the Western Conference Finals to maybe now you're looking at maybe second round exit at best. And there could be a move at the deadline if you have Randall along with that pick to go get a guy. So there's optionality, which I like that foresight, but this could go a little bit wrong as well. But it's a mitigated risk and I like the risk.
New York, they had to go get a big because they lost Hardenstein. And if you're going to go get any big men in the league, Joe and B's already under contract because 6 or 6 in the end for three years, Joe Kitch is going to know where he's going to die in Denver. And there's nothing that's going to change that. And then beyond that, no one really wants really go bare to be there, send their franchise centerpiece big besides Minnesota.
So I don't think that they could have done anything besides this. This is actually a pretty solid move because you can play him with bridges. You can play them with their big men. I think Robinson is still there.
So it doesn't conflict and he's already played in the two big system. So I think it's fair on both sides. I give it B plus on both sides and it could be a plus depending on how they perform on the Knicks and it could be a plus depending on what the free agent market looks like for Minnesota. And you know what, I want to add some more things.
One thing for Minnesota, not as Reed is part of the reason why you make this move because the way he stepped up in the playoffs, in my opinion, has outperformed the contract and this time. So it allows you to make these type of moves. So because Nas Reed looks like he's poised to take another step forward, you can let go and still bring somebody in, you know, saying that that can produce similar to cat on the New York Knicks side. Another point I want to add is this you look at who won the East, right?
Like who won the whole championship is Boston. Boston when they're most unbalanced toward the defense is what Brazil is out there, bro. Like having a seven three guy that can do all of the things that Brazil can do. That's why you bring in the guy like cat.
Look, we're not saying go shut down. We're not saying go point for point. What we're saying is that's your matchup. We don't have nobody else that can match up with this guy.
You know what I'm saying? So the fact that they brought back OG and you look at how Boston is set up from a personnel perspective, you look at what New York is trying to do, that's where they're setting their sights on. And they're like, okay, we got to go through Boston. So that's another reason why I really like this move because how many players are there really out there for a Brazilian match up?
It's only a handful of guys catch one of those guys. You can't really coach height and to bring him in for the Knicks is nice for the size. It's just it's can. So we know what we get with cat.
We don't know which one is going to show up at any moment. We don't know if he's going to shrink in big moments. Like he did in Minnesota, all these years. So in saying that I like what they had that show, I like the rhythm and the flow that they had, but they did bring in Miles Bridges.
I mean, not Miles Bridges. Bridges, McCall Bridges. So you could afford to lose a different chance of Randall was out most of the year with entry and he's a ball hog. So to lose him, it's kind of like a dishing by attraction.
So cats should be able to fit into that puzzle nicely because he doesn't command the ball every trip down the court. So in saying that if they can match together with him with the Villanova guys, even though they had to give it one of their their compiderates, they should be okay. But still, I don't know if it's enough to challenge Boston just to be honest. I don't know.
We'd have to see it in action to see because Boston, they're filling themselves right now. So they got some momentum. So it's going to be tough to kind of knock them off the purge. As far as Minnesota goes, it's going to be interesting to see how Julius Randall fits with ant.
And we talk about him getting his development stunted and his growth. As far as the player goes, it's going to be really interesting to see the fit that they have together and if they can work together, if they can, it's going to be beautiful. If they can't, then you're going to make some changes right away pretty soon again anyway. So it's just in its addition by subtraction, you get those, that big money that you have with cat off your books, you got to worry about that money anymore.
So that's the best thing for Minnesota. So it's also win for both sides. We can see how it turns out. Can't wait for the season start.
Well, I can wait for the season start. But what I will say, all of this is dependent upon cat. If he's going to be, if he's going to have the testicular fortitude to be a New York and play as the type of player, their blessing needs him to be, the number one for this team, but can cat go out there night after night and give them what they need as a seven footer, not be somebody to this vote on a perimeter, not be somebody that can't check the other seven footers on the other team and stop defensively like they need. He's going to be the person that they need him to beat him.
This is a great strike because at the worst, Minnesota is going to be able to understand what Anthony Edwards needs. And if it ain't, if it ain't, who they got traded from? What's the name? Can't think it's not a chance.
Yeah, if it ain't Randall, if it's not Julian's Randall, then they know what they need because they knew it wasn't cat. Can't could only get them so far. They seemed that they were able to get that far this year in the playoffs. Now we want something different.
We want to see how it works. We're Randall with that doesn't work. We can, we have the flexibility to get somebody else in here next to Anthony Edwards. And that's going to take us to the next level.
For the Knicks, it shows we have this person, Jaylen Brunson is our guy. He showed us where he can take us. And if we got a seven foot cat claims, he's one of the most talented seven footers ever playing the game. If he could actually be that in the Eastern Conference during the playoffs in the regular season, this gives a nix to legitimate shot to like fight for the championship.
But it all depends on cat. This whole trade for Minnesota, for New York, it depends on how cat is going to perform under this spotlight. We've seen him in Minnesota. We've seen what he can do.
We've seen the dumb stuff that he does. Can he come over that with Tillbadow as his coach and beat us a solid number two to Brunson. That's where the, where did you have the Russell take them last year? It was a finals.
He was like, now he was getting away from the Eastern Conference finals. I think everybody heard second round. Yeah. Everyone.
I was like, I'm a self-care. I was like, I was like, I went to the finals and stuff. Shouldn't even give you guys me. But you know, should be.
I'll say this. I'll say this. I'll say this. I read most of what everybody said.
My thing is this before, to me, this is a make it break a year for tips because based off what you said, if we don't, I would say, I would say they're going to make it to the Eastern Conference finals. If they don't do that, they're going to fire. Yeah. Because like to your point, if cat don't get along with him already coming into it, we're going, he's going to be gone anyway by the end of the shitball.
You know what I'm saying? Because we did all this to get kept. So we're going to get you out of here and we get a more offensive minded coach who's not going to run the players into injury to get us a game away from the Eastern Conference finals. So that's what I'll say on that.
But to me, pause right there. Pause right there. So how much of a leash do you think the middle is on at the beginning of the season? Because I can see cat not being happy, really spoiling the start to the season.
I'm not saying that there's going to be a bad team. I'm not saying that there's going to be world beaters either. But we know that this, just based off of everything that they have should be a playoff team at minimum. And they start two and eight, two and 13.
That's what I was going to say. To me, with the starting lineup of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, McChill Bridges, Ojianna Novee, and Kat, they should win at least the first 30 games, 20 to 30 in my opinion. If there's anything less than that, then I feel like people are going to be like, obviously you know how New York is going to be. I think they looking at this straight like, all right, but it's just us, Boston and Philly.
And to me, obviously since I'm biased, I think it's just us and Boston. You know what I'm saying? So I think that he got a short leash, especially before all stop, he will be fired. If we're not getting at least 20 games, I've done first 30.
But also, I think it's going to be some issues. I don't know. I disagree with both of y'all because I felt like he over achieved last year with that team because nobody expected those guys to play like that. He raised a level of different chinso, raised a level of Josh Hart.
Those guys were not that when they got there. But to your point, I'm going to go ahead. No, get finished. I'm going to go.
No, you're fine. I was just saying that he raised a level of the players around him. It really always depends on how it looks. It's bigger than just wins and losses and Kat ain't going to come in there running us.
It's not going to be his team. We're going to get part of it, but it's still not his team right away. He's not happy because of what happened before. He has to fit the next culture in the next way.
He's not going to be Kat's way. They ain't doing it. Kat ain't earned it. So anybody where about what Kat think about it?
Kat, no, that's not his thing. Yeah, he knows that. No, that's not what he is. I think Kat can go with a lot of himself and he's coming into New York.
That's his thing. He's better than Rossin. He means that he means that he's in his crib with Jordan. He's the key writer.
You write Nick, but will he do that though? My thing is this. My thing is this going back to Tis. I will just jump on him.
Going back to Tis though. So you're right. He did raise a level. He also raised expectations by overachieving.
You know how New York fans, we progressing. We be falling back. When Daniel Jones won that playoff game, that next year, they was expected a way better record than they had. Exactly.
That's what Daniel Jones, we know what Daniel Jones is. Just like I know what Daniel Brunson is. He does some shit that I don't even think Jordan did in the playoffs or if not anybody says Jordan. So to me, it's a healthy New York next game I've read.
This is the tips thing. That's why I'm putting a lot of this on tips because if they're healthy, going into the playoffs, that's starting five. There's only two teams I see that can beat that. And like you said, it's like you said, it's like a certain type of way.
And we know tips ain't no offensive guru. This is an offensive team. You got some good defenders. I think they got the best wings and a starting fire probably in the whole east.
But I forgot about the first. I was like, well, Max, I'm talking about defensively defensively. One of the last time PG like anybody, I think look at the crazy and multiple series. But that's a home at the level.
But we face in nonetheless, they face in my kill bridges going to be every game every night in a series. I don't disagree where cat has not earned it in that next locker room. However, that contract says differently. He's still one of the highest paid people at his position.
And if he comes in there on a sour note based off of what the history has with them at all, who do they want to get rid of first? The player of the coach, they want to get rid of them at all. So why I don't disagree that they would all where every thing that goes, they overachieve because they don't push his heart. What does Jalen Brunson and the guys who have seen success under Tibidol think about that?
Does that not make cat a cancer in the locker room? If he come in and oh, I can't get along with this nigga, we damn it went to the East of Converse. It means like, I mean, that's not that's not that's not cat's personality. I think that that would be a complete departure from who he is.
Like he don't even talk to Jordan like that. Like, you know what I mean? Like, he's like, I'm all right. So it's just like for me, he's not built in that type of way.
He's not a Jimmy Butler who's going to come in. But you know how to win when you had Jimmy Butler. There's a scale to this to Q. Like, I have to be Jimmy Butler to be a cancer.
We know he's not Jimmy. We know that. Yeah, for sure. But I mean, Anthony Edwards is what younger than Brunson if I'm mistaken already.
So he's younger than Brunson and you had to play second fiddle to a younger guy. You think that dude who just gave up 100 million to construct a team that he wants is going to be okay with that's not I think that's going to be not an issue. I think the real issue here is we're talking about a Tibidol team that yeah, they're going to grind and they're going to go super hard and they're going to win all these games and we dive in on the floor for loose basketballs and everyone's going to be pounding like the pavement. You know, I mean, pounding the floor slapping the floor and shit, but come the second round of the playoffs, our guys legs going to be absolutely falling off the bone.
So I think that that has to be the philosophy coming in this season and that's going to be the thing to watch is is Tibidol going to take either advice from somebody or is he going to have the light bulb moment himself to know that I can't really stress about beating the Orlando Magic in a random Wednesday night game in October or November when my guys just played a back to back or you know, I mean, like I don't need to play the 50, you know, I'll play them 40 minutes a night. I don't need to do it. I need to just get offensive flow. We need to have to our defensive concepts executing and then honestly, you need to be resting guys some games because you already have the offensive firepower.
It's just that can you get the system and just look the way it's supposed to look. And the key thing that I know people talked about, but I'm going to talk about too because I actually I'm thinking about it's the bench. Like I feel like he started to trust the bench a little bit more than he used to with the rising McBride and then we get heart and stuff. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Okay. Yeah. He really is. Yeah.
You make that happen. You know what I'm saying? You know what those players bring as far as overachieving, but you know what you're getting consistently at those two guys. And there's also the chemistry built in the Bronson and Bridges.
I feel like people don't talk about the Bridges thing because it happened so long ago. And a lot of shit has happened now. But I think that, and then a healthy OG, I just think that, like you mentioned Q, if he keep this team healthy somehow, some way, because I know Leon probably called his ass up off like look, we can go to the finals, right? I made some moves here.
Because they just fucking with my moves in New York. And usually you can never say that. You can get this team down the line. Because we saw it like you said, I'm off the bone by the time.
You could have went to the EC conference right now. If things may have been like you said, we take that night off in Orlando. I mean, honestly, if you're the New York Knicks, one of these next two seasons, you particularly want to be deep in the playoffs because I'm just on some business shit. Like I'm pretty sure the World Cup comes to North America next year or the year after if I'm not mistaken.
So if you have, you know what I'm saying, all the tourism that's coming into America, LA and Canada and all those places and shit, if the New York Knicks are winning and they're deep in the playoffs around these times, I guess extra revenue man to the city. If we're playing finals games or Easter Carimers Finals games in New York City, that's a huge boost just to the Knicks and the economy. So they're obviously, you know, see a window here where like, yo, now's the time to go on. But the last thing I wanted to say was, I think this was the answer to the question that we had about Minnesota towards the end where when we said, I think we had a discussion, is what do they need to do?
Are they gonna sit tight? Are they gonna just run it back? And I think I was on the side of saying that they probably need to upgrade, but I think that they realized that there was no upgrades to make right now. So they just kind of just push the tips towards, you know, just waiting to see what's gonna come in the market.
So it's gonna be interesting to see what happens in the season. And I think that Minnesota made the best move to not keep the same mistake that happened with KG in the early 2000s. They have to put a guy around and that can go just, you know, ban for ban with him in terms of, you know, that type of player. Yeah, to be honest, to see how things work out with Randall, if Randall is that guy.
But what we do know about Cat is he's the only player in NBA history with averages of at least 22 points, he's about rebounds, three assists, the block and 62% through shooting. So yeah, he- How does he 28? Well, he's a 30 plus. So he like Cat Prescott.
Hey. Yeah, well, speaking of Prescott and football, let's jump to the Bills, man. The Buffalo Bills took an ugly loss at the Baltimore Ravens on the road 35 to 10. Does this dominant win over Buffalo finally answers?
Who was the number two quarterback in the NFL after the homes and did this loss as opposed to Bills as legit AFC contenders? Jumping. Is it? Yeah, I'm changing my color first.
It's Bills, because, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, I know about now. Cheers. That's my response.
Yeah, they took a loss and it exposed them in the sense that you're playing a team that exposes all your weaknesses. You're struggling against the run game and they showed that early when nobody wanted to tackle their Henry what so. They still are contenders, I believe. So I don't think that goes away.
You have one of the top three quarterbacks in the league and Josh Allen, that doesn't change. And he has players that can make plays from on offense. And I think the defense is timely. They can make plays.
They're pretty good at keeping the league. They got a pretty decent run game as well. It's just that this game, like I said, it did expose them. But like we said, they were on the road and they are beatable.
We knew that. We knew that he had a lack of receiver help when he lost the fond digs. He lost second receiver. I can't remember his name.
Whatever his name. Anyway, he lost. Yeah, Davis. He lost.
So in saying that you knew he was going to come in at some point and these receivers were going to show up secure and some of these guys are Coleman, you know, they're not seasoned yet. They're not, you know, he doesn't have a true number one. And he can't win it all by himself. But more than anything, Baltimore had something to play for.
And they had more to play for than the Bills, I would say, in that game because you go down one more game, you won the three, you in the bottom basement with the Bengals again and you don't want to be there. So in saying that, I think that the Bills were exposed, but they're not out. They see a lot of content. I'll say this.
Sean, we didn't know they were involved in the Barrow. That's clear. Second of all, I think, I'll say that's the first part of the question. If Joe Brod don't make the playoffs this year, then yes, the March accents, the second best QB in the league.
But I do think the Bills got exposed. I do think the Bills got exposed. I think everybody, he'd been watching any kind of sports radio or whatever. You'll see that they had defense ain't shit.
I feel like when Lou talks about the Cowboys and the linebackers, that's what we're getting. When we're talking about the middle of that defense with the Bills, because the Ravens just ran up the gut from Lamar to Henry. The expose happened in the first two seconds of the game. When Henry went untouched, at least for the Bengals, he would just brush us off like his dust on him, but he went untouched.
And I guess what they best safety is, DeMar Hamlin? He got me. He got me. No parts of there.
You're right. What happened to him? I was like, he be God. He tried to get right over twice.
My thing is this, they got exposed. And then Josh Allen, I feel like I'm not going to say this is what he don't because he ain't saying he ain't saying all the right things about losing digs. But he was filling himself coming into the game. The way they was thinking and dunking and cutting my fucking stuff with his little style.
I'm the Mahomes of my team too. You know what I'm saying? The Ravens just played man all game. The Ravens looked like the Monstars Saturday Sunday night.
They were the Monstars because the Bills just don't have any of the guys. Everything we talked about is also you lost got exposed in that game. Yes. So kind of to your point, I would imagine in that defensive meeting, they pulled up the roster and looked at why we're even one, two and three.
It was like, we ain't got to worry about these guys. And we got this. And thinking about it, that formula worked against the people that they played. It was time to see if that could work.
But we found out, bro, you're not Mahomes, bro. You can't win with nobody's out there. We saw evidence a little bit of evidence in the first three games, but look at the competition. I talked about competition matters for some of this stuff.
So now you're going to begin to see an elite guy. Patty Beam, now Patty had his guys, but these are new guys. But she writes in Xavier Worthy is new. He didn't have Hollywood Brown.
We see Patty winning now without guys. So I think you just not him, bro. It's just not going to happen. I think it's going to be Mahomes.
And we've seen Brady do this. It's only a few quarterbacks that have ever been able to go out and win with whoever they put on the field with him. And we've seen Rogers do it. We've seen Rogers do it, too.
I just think one game is without anybody. The Sean Watson got all that money because he used to be able to do it. You know? Yeah, it's not easy.
So, uh, we are trying to win though. He just put him in numbers. What's up, bro? And he was not the best.
Yeah, he must have his stats. When you talk about this, there's only two names. You can really meet Mitch and he wrote you. There's only two names you can really mention.
Like you said, and that's Brady and Mahomes. That's it. They win. I don't know what exposed really means here.
Are we saying exposed as like their bad team? Because I don't think they're a bad team. They're still going to get like 10 wins. Like, are we saying exposed?
They're supposed to meet with me that they're beatable and they're not at the level of that top tier yet. Okay. I mean, if we're saying that, yeah, if we're saying that they're feasible. Yeah.
What's your name? What's your name? What's your division? What's your division?
What's your division? What's your division? What's your division? What's your division?
What's your division what's your division? What's your division? What what's your division? Like you imm life system.
What's your division? Who's behind you? Because you tack, who's here at the bottom of the final double yThe regulation? No.
Yes. Whatever your mechanism. Yeah. There's no way that the injury has been made here.
Steelers but not as good as those teams. They just have Josh Allen and we know how national media likes to get behind Josh Allen. So this is not an unexpected thing. Yeah.
This is how we expect him to perform. Like he over performing the first three games from the B3 and O and continue to push that. Oh, Josh Allen is super man. Narrative.
Like this is this is expected. But of course, especially for the Ravens, because he had much better team than the bills are. Yeah. And that's what he's getting.
I did it. It was a win. It was a win. It was game.
Why do you pick them? It's kind of Ken Loki, but hating on tomorrow ever since he got paid. I didn't know. I mean, you know, it was a test.
It was the first true test to see if this formula was actually working. And to the question, it was this, it took that work. So, but I wanted to see if this, if this, if does this new version of Josh Allen able to just put guys on the field and we're just going to run the offense, we just going to execute at a high level regardless of who's on the field. Everybody just do their job.
We'll just work and it did not. So, you know, one team. Let's learn. Yeah.
I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. We can say.
Oh, so. They look fantastic. Last one. Okay.
Let me just say this. Let me just say this. Let me just say this. Let me, let me clarify what I'm also saying that's exposed.
Okay. Lamar Jackson, a better QB than Josh Allen. Okay. A lot of people, a lot of people, a lot of people on this show, though, we knew that a lot of people don't believe.
And I don't know what even if I did the game, I think they still believe in Josh Allen. A lot of people just don't believe that Lamar Jackson is the second best quarterback in the league. Now, obviously I'm biased with my guy, but that's only based on this and that. But outside of that, there's no way you can tell me he's not, especially after this game.
Now, I know people might say like, oh, the Ravens are more talented, but even still, when the Bills was more talented, he wasn't doing, he wasn't making a big enough difference to where you could say this two time MVP or even one time, maybe people at the time when Allen was getting praised at number two, that he's better than him. It was like, where does that show? Because they both were even now Lamar's playoff record is a little bit less than his. So maybe that's not the reason why, but still the Mar Jackson talent wise and team wise, if you to me, Josh Allen is going with his team right now with the Mar Jackson was doing a vocal, his career dealing with no name niggas that he had to make with running back.
So he'd no one really would draft in the fantasy draft. And I agree. And I'm saying. No, but I'm saying it's like, you know, no, I'm saying is that the Bills first of all, they face who they face, bro, Tyler Murray.
They say we doing that because this is because it's getting to one of the same. They face. Tyler, let's see who they face. Tyler Murray, who else was it?
Uh, just for Lawrence. And also a less fight. And to a by saying that they're doing what I'm going to see. I mean, seeing the way that Josh Allen is as just as good as the more Jackson.
No, see, no, no, no. What? So you're good. Thank you.
I mean, yeah, I don't tell them why it's just as good. I think of the margin a little bit better though. Yeah. It's not a wide margin.
No, it's not. But we did a top 10 quarterback. Did we not all have Lamar Jackson hired in Josh Allen? Maybe not one.
They're on the same tier still though. Yeah. Like he's still top three. He's still a top three QB.
I don't know. I don't know. They're on the same team. Alan, Alan, Burrow, Mahomes and Jackson, all the best for quarterbacks in the league.
And then, and then on any given day, you know, I mean, we'll put my homes out because it's all going to be it's going to be Burrow, Jackson, you know what I'm saying? And then you got Alan, but it's like my point is like, I'm, I'm, I'm agreeing with Spike because it's like, I don't see all of that Josh has to do is get into the playoffs. And then all bets are off in terms of just football. Like I don't agree with the fact that one game exposes you and I don't think that one game makes you.
