In 2015, a statement went out under Josh Duggar's name that admitted he'd been living a double life, admitted he'd been unfaithful, and admitted in his own words that he had "acted inexcusably" and "hurt others." It ended his television show. It ended his public career. The entire country read it.In 2025, Josh Duggar told a federal judge he never wrote it.That's the argument sitting inside a motion he filed asking for a new trial. He claims television producers put those words in his mouth, that the confession America watched him make was somebody else's script. And it's only one of eight grounds he raised. He argued a part-time employee could've been the real culprit. He argued the government's forensic expert doctored evidence and lied under oath. He argued the whole prosecution was political.And then, in a paragraph that stops you cold, he argued that his own sisters, the girls he admitted harming as a teenager, had wronged him, because their confidential records were made public.A federal judge denied the motion.
