Did Yoda Believe in Redemption?

In The Empire Strikes Back, Yoda tells Luke: "If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will". This line has lead many fans to speculate as to whether or not Master Yoda believed in redemption. Did he believe that people who chose the Dark Side could ever come back to the Light?
