Dazu wurden Google Trend-Suchanfragen auf der ganzen Welt nach Ländern ausgewertet, die nach dem Begriff „Bitcoin“ suchen. Die ermittelten Ergebnisse wurden in weiterer Folge zusammen mit der Anzahl der Bitcoin-Geldautomaten in jedem Land pro 100.000 Einwohner und den zur Verfügung stehenden Daten zum Besitz von Kryptowährungen pro Land ausgewertet. Diese Metriken wurden anschließend zu einem Index kombiniert, um jedem Land eine Bewertung von 100 zuzuweisen.
