DIFFERENCE is the third in a new set of pieces, which includes NOTHING & AN EXTINCTION OF A DIFFERENT KIND. The ensemble is distributed 180 degrees in space, here with two maxed-out grand pianos, left / right, two piccolos, two trumpets, two horns, two trombones, and two tubas; it makes a hypercrystaline, high energy, sound. The sound seems to fit the mathematics. Raw Recaman sequences are feed into Strangeloops spiraling through tempo octaves via a constant factor of 1.4121356, rather like sunflowers unfolding in time. In order to avoid possible misunderstandings, the miniature, FEMINISM’s FATAL FLAW, refers not to, for example, CODE PINK, or to a more spiritual, earthy ECOFEMINISM, but more to what we are subjected to on a daily bases in the worldwide corporate and political arenas.
