Differences Between Muscle Building And True Strength Training

from Rdella Training : The Strength & Performance Podcast

(#252) What's the difference between training for maximum muscular development and true strength training? Yes, this is often misunderstood. Thanks to a great question from Ian (one of our loyal listeners to the podcast), I wanted to answer this question in detail - especially since I'm a former bodybuilder. While it's true that resistance exercise will provide gains in strength and muscle, the way we manipulate training variables has a great deal to do with maximizing results in either area. I'll explain the key differences. Get value from this podcast? Then please take a minute to review the show. It's fast and easy to do. The evidence is highly suggestive that volume plays a key role in muscular development and there is still much more to be learned about volume-based periodization strategies.
