Preterism is the interpretation of Revelation where everything has already happened. In this interpretation, the world has been waiting since at least John's day for Jesus' Second Coming. The Continual Historical interpretation involves the linear interpretation of the events described in Revelation with world history. It is reading Revelation in one hand with the newspaper in the other. The Idealist interpretation treats the book of Revelation as a fable or inspirational story to illustrate the battle of good and evil in the world.
