This month’s topic is philosophy, science, and religion. Our guest is Dr. Matthew Pierlott, an Associate Professor of Philosophy at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He primarily teaches courses in ethics, including issues of agency, moral responsibility and leadership. He also teaches courses on philosophy of science, philosophy of religion, and the relationship between religion and science. He has presented and published on a variety of topics in the field and is committed to promoting accessible, inclusive and meaningfully applicable philosophy. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy and English from Scranton University in 1997 and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Marquette University in 2006. He currently is the co-director of the Interfaith, Meaning-Making and Spirituality Project, which supports the efforts of students, faculty and staff to create interreligious dialogue and support those navigating their religious identities on campus.
