Digital Literacy: Adopt, Adapt and Dive Right In

from Nine To Thrive HR · host HCI Podcasts

When technology first introduced new devices and new approaches to users everywhere, it didn’t take long at all for boundaries to be pushed, especially with digital capabilities in the workplace. Some technological advances were easily adopted and some were not, but regardless of which tech made the cut, leaders couldn’t seem to build a developed pipeline with the digital literacy skills needed to support workplace change. The transition from an analog world to one in which digital runs the show left a critical need for digital proficiency, but many people underestimated what it would take to keep up. Also underestimated was the impact that the lack of digital proficiency had on the organization as a whole, and how it kept the organization from achieving business goals. There’s no reason for digital literacy to be daunting – all you need is a foundation and a desire to learn.
