Among the challenges currently facing rural hospitals is cybersecurity, which was one of the main concerns expressed in a recent report commissioned by the Arkansas General Assembly. According to Becker’s Hospital Review, nationwide there have been 327 data breaches reported to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Civil Rights as of August, affecting more than 40 million patients.
