A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, he followed in his fathers footsteps and Nicholson began a career in high school education, where he has spent 37 years at Loyola High School. But it was in the Cape Code Baseball League, where the “Coach K” of baseball may have made his biggest impact. In the most prestigious collegiate baseball league in the country, Nicholson has been part of the Orleans Firebirds Organization for 20 years, starting as the teams pitching coach and eventually taking over as their manager in 2005. During his tenure, he has coached hundreds of the most talented collegiate baseball players in the country, while also mentoring some of the brightest young coaches in the game.
