Madison alder Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford secured the Democratic Party nomination for Wisconsin’s 76th Assembly District last night, and is poised to represent much of Madison in the state Assembly. She would be the first openly transgender person to serve in the state Legislature, and her campaign is grabbing the attention of Madison’s trans community.
