Levine has won numerous awards for her work, including the Northern California Book Award in Poetry for Small Disasters Seen in Sunlight.  She has three other books: Ditch Tender, Ask, and Practicing for Heaven. She received a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and an MFA in Creative Writing from Pacific University. She lives and works in Davis,California.
