DIRECCIONES La semana pasada fui a Madrid. Tenia que ir a una reunión en la calle Alcalá así que cogí un taxi desde la estación para llegar a tiempo. Cuando terminó la reunión quería ir a una librería en la Gran Vía y cogí el metro, es fácil viajar en metro y casi imposible perderse. Era pronto para el tren así que decidí ir andando hasta el Museo del Prado. Estuve caminado durante más de una hora y aunque sabia que estaba cerca no conseguía orientarme y pregunte a un señor que estaba leyendo un periódico sentado en un banco. Ana: Perdón, ¿puede ayudarme? Angel: Por supuesto, diga me Ana: Quiero ir al museo del Prado, se que no está lejos pero estoy perdida Angel: Van en dirección contraria Ana: ¿De veras? Angel: Si, para ir al Museo del Prado tiene que dar la vuelta, siga recto hasta que llegue al semáforo. Cuando llegue gire a la derecha y pase cuatro edificios, verá el Museo del Prado enfrente. Ana: De acuerdo, a ver si lo he entendido bien. Tengo que dar la vuelta y bajar hasta los semáforos, girar a la derecha y seguir recto durante un tramo hasta encontrarlo. Angel: Eso es. Tardará más o menos 10 minutos. Ana: Muchas gracias, adiós Como puedes imaginar cogí un taxi para volver a la estación. Soy un desastre para orientarme. Siempre acabo preguntando. I’m a disaster with directions Last week I went to Madrid, I had to attend to a meeting in Alcala Street so I took a taxi from the railway station to arrive in time. When the meeting finished I wanted to go to a bookshop in Gran Via street an took the tube, it’s easy to travel by tube and nearly impossible to get lost. It was very early for my train so I decided to go walking to the Prado Museum. I was walking for more than an hour and although I knew I was near I didn’t get to orientate myself so I asked to a man who was reading a newspaper sitting on a bench. Ana: Excuse me, can you help me? Angel: Oh, sure, tell me Ana: I want to go to the Prado Museum, I know it is not far but I’m lost Angel: You are walking in the opposite direction Ana: Really? Angel: Yes, to get to the Prado Museum you have to turn around and go straight down this street until you reach the traffic lights. When you get there turn right and walk four blocks. You’ll see the building in front of you. Ana: Ok, let me see if I have understood. I have to turn and go down until the traffic lights, turn right and go straight for a while to find it. Angel: Exactly, you’ll be there in 10 minutes. Ana: Thanks a lot, bye As you can imagine I took a taxi to return to the station. I’m a disaster to orientate myself. I always end up asking
