RaMell Ross is a multi time Academy-Award nominee in documentary and narrative, a filmmaker, photographer, academic, and writer. You may have seen his directorial debut Hale County This Morning, This Evening, an experimental documentary about black life in Hale County, Alabama. RaMell's most recent directorial work is the historical drama Nickel Boys, based on the novel of the same name by Colson Whitehead. It's nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards and RaMell Ross and co-writer Joslyn Barnes are both nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.
