Disappointment Isn’t the Problem. What You Do With It Is (A Biblical Path to Healing) | 34

from Trust God Be Confident | Biblical Encouragement, Bible Study, Insecurity, Trust In God, Spiritual Growth · host Sarah Coppiano

Ever worked hard for something you loved, only to feel overlooked or undervalued? Have you ever had the rug pulled out from under you right when you thought things were finally moving forward? Do you struggle with disappointment that quietly turns into bitterness or self-doubt? Are you ignoring a disappointment because it hurts too much to face? Do you replay a situation over and over, assigning meaning and intent that may not be true? In this episode, I’m unpacking the pain of disappointment and the two unhealthy extremes we often fall into when life doesn’t go the way we hoped. Ignoring it or amplifying it. I share a personal story of workplace disappointment and how unprocessed hurt slowly turned into resentment, insecurity, and distorted self-beliefs. We’ll talk honestly about how disappointment shows up in our jobs, relationships, church spaces, leadership dynamics, and seasons where expectations go unmet. You’ll learn why ignoring disappointment doesn’t make it go away. It only buries it. And why amplifying disappointment can feel justified but often keeps us stuck, assigning false narratives and blocking reconciliation. We’ll also name the role pride plays in both responses and how it quietly hardens our hearts. Most importantly, I walk through the biblical practice of acknowledgement. How to name the pain without becoming bitter. How to pursue reconciliation when it’s needed. And how to release disappointment to God when healing doesn’t come the way we hoped. This episode is for anyone carrying unresolved disappointment and longing for emotional healing, restored peace, and renewed trust in God.   Contact → https://bit.ly/TrustGodBeConfident Connect → Join our free Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/share/g/17npCJcUYY/ Instagram → @sarah.coppiano Resources → www.sarahcoppiano.com   Next Steps: Step 1: Join a supportive community of women learning to trust God in transition inside the free Facebook group Step 2: Sign up for the weekly newsletter for encouragement, biblical truth, and practical faith tools at https://bit.ly/tgbc-insider Step 3: Get more personalized support through faith-based coaching resources coming soon
