Discovering Jesus in Nahum
from Aliens On Earth Hosted by Nate Gizaw
Send us Fan Mail This episode, Aliens on Earth: The Stronghold in the Storm, moves into the Book of Nahum, presenting it as a sequel to Jonah's story where God's mercy has been ignored and His patience has ended. It explores Nahum's difficult question—What does God do when mercy is ignored? —by focusing on two main themes. First, it reframes God’s holy jealousy as a protective love and establishes Jesus Christ as the Administrator of Justice, not an alternative to it, citing His cleansing of the Temple and His future role as Judge. Second, it identifies Jesus as the Stronghold in the Day of Trouble, the true 'High Place' and only unshakeable foundation built on the completed work of the Cross. The episode concludes with three applications for the modern-day "alien": trusting Jesus as the Knowing Shepherd (Relational GPS), choosing to Relinquish Vengeance by following His model, and resting in Him as the Unshakable Cornerstone (Auditing Your Security). The core message is that peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of the Stronghold in trouble. Support the show
