Discovery in The Skies: The Story of Margaret Bourke-White

Chances are if you google Margaret Bourke-White you will find one of two photos in the top of the search results: a woman on the edge of New York City's Chrysler Building with her camera in hand, or that of a woman in full USAAF flight gear and holding her camera. Bourke-White was the first female staff photographer for Life Magazine, and the first female war correspondent. In fact, she was the first female to do a lot of things! Much like her counterpart, Lee Miller, Margaret chronicled the goings on overseas during the war- except she did it in the skies. Her bravery was the stuff of dreams for thousands, doing what so many women could only dream of doing; and maybe for some, they still do.
