Being an artist is great, but it's hard to pay the bills. As part of the Amsterdam art scene for more than a decade, Matthijs Booij knows this better than most. His work includes The One-Thousand Drawing Pension Plan, where you can buy a drawing for €1 a month until his retirement. He's also founder of Patty Morgan, an online art gallery representing young artists.
