Ebenezer Scrooge (impersonato da Paperon de’ Paperoni) è un papero avaro e scorbutico, che sfrutta i suoi dipendenti e che odia il Natale. La sera della vigilia a Scrooge appare il fantasma del suo ex socio Marley, condannato a trascinare per l’eternità delle pesanti catene. Affinché Scrooge possa sfuggire a un simile destino, Marley fa intervenire tre Spiriti – il fantasma del Natale passato, il fantasma del Natale presente e il fantasma del Natale futuro – che riusciranno a cambiare l’animo del papero, rendendolo buono. Diretto da Burny Mattison, il mediometraggio è tratto dal racconto Canto di Natale scritto nel 1843 da Charles Dickens. Canto di Natale di Topolino uscì negli Stati Uniti il 16 dicembre 1983 in abbinamento alla riedizione de Le avventure di Bianca e Bernie. In Italia il mediometraggio uscì il 23 dicembre dello stesso anno assieme alla riedizione de Il libro della giungla. Canto di Natale di Topolino fu nominato all’Oscar nell’edizione del 1984 nella categoria “Miglior cortometraggio d’animazione” ma non riuscì a portarsi a casa la statuetta.
