Disney's Art of Animation Resort Review - All You Need To Know

00;00;10;02 Thanks to the super quick Skyliner. 00;00;10;02 - 00;00;10;28 My name's Martin, 00;00;10;28 - 00;00;14;11 and today I'm going to be talking to you all about this brilliant resort 00;00;14;13 - 00;00;18;07 that's located in one of the best locations of Walt Disney World. 00;00;18;09 - 00;00;21;01 Now, one of the main reasons that people love staying at this 00;00;21;01 - 00;00;25;22 ratio is that you are immersed straight into some of the most popular 00;00;25;22 - 00;00;27;00 Disney films. 00;00;27;00 - 00;00;30;21 So you're going to be staying in areas such as for Finding 00;00;30;21 - 00;00;34;19 Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. 00;00;34;19 - 00;00;38;10 So some of the most popular Disney films around. 00;00;38;13 - 00;00;41;05 Unlike a lot of the other hotels where there might be sort of more subtle 00;00;41;05 - 00;00;44;15 references to Disney, this one is in your face. 00;00;44;15 - 00;00;49;18 You are going to find giant mermaids, big castle related things at the Cohens, 00;00;49;18 - 00;00;53;03 and that goes stuff giant fish in the Nemo area. 00;00;53;06 - 00;00;57;07 And also Little Mermaid as well is in your face. 00;00;57;10 - 00;00;59;21 Disney, you're not going back to escape it, okay? 00;00;59;21 - 00;01;02;23 Even the rooms are coming quite in-your-face. 00;01;02;23 - 00;01;05;27 If that's not for you, then this is definitely not going be resort for you. 00;01;05;27 - 00;01;08;24 If you don't like kind of a bit more in-your-face prefer face. 00;01;08;24 - 00;01;12;01 There are much better places to stay, but if you want to be 00;01;12;01 - 00;01;15;09 immersed in somewhere that is truly within a Disney film. 00;01;15;16 - 00;01;19;02 Then Disney's of animation might be the result for, 00;01;19;02 - 00;01;22;15 you know, in the ever great reasons to stay here is the Skyliner. 00;01;22;15 - 00;01;27;15 So when you speak to some of our guests, what we'd like to do is ask them 00;01;27;15 - 00;01;32;06 which resort they want to stay in if they've been before, or 00;01;32;08 - 00;01;35;01 the unsure wave of questions you ask is which 00;01;35;01 - 00;01;38;01 theme parks do you think we spend the most time in? 00;01;38;03 - 00;01;39;22 So this is kind of quite an interesting thing 00;01;39;22 - 00;01;42;15 because if you could be spending a lot of time in Epcot 00;01;42;15 - 00;01;44;19 or Hollywood studios, especially more towards 00;01;44;19 - 00;01;48;00 the end of the day, also in the afternoons as well, 00;01;48;03 - 00;01;52;11 then Sky and a result is a great place to stay. 00;01;52;15 - 00;01;55;27 So the reasons for this is that, for example, when you leave 00;01;55;29 - 00;01;56;20 after you've watched 00;01;56;20 - 00;01;58;03 the fireworks in Epcot, 00;01;58;03 - 00;01;59;22 where you can just do is you can just jump straight 00;01;59;22 - 00;02;03;23 onto the Skyliner and get back as opposed to walking back to the busses, 00;02;03;23 - 00;02;04;24 getting on the bus of 00;02;04;24 - 00;02;08;05 when s o of mister bus and then queue up and get on another bus of people. 00;02;08;12 - 00;02;11;07 Skyler is much quicker and much more convenient. 00;02;11;07 - 00;02;14;12 And also you have it depend on how big you are, the skyline, 00;02;14;12 - 00;02;18;12 the cable cars, they actually don't actually hold that huge map people. 00;02;18;19 - 00;02;21;18 So if you're a reasonably large family, you can have your own one 00;02;21;18 - 00;02;23;16 or you might be sharing the cup of people's bus. 00;02;23;16 - 00;02;25;21 So it's a bit more of a nicer experience. 00;02;25;21 - 00;02;28;11 Well, so you get to get amazing photos as well. 00;02;28;11 - 00;02;32;03 If you're going to have little kids and for example, you're going to be in 00;02;32;03 - 00;02;36;01 Epcot Network is a big theme park, not, do you think as you want to pop back 00;02;36;01 - 00;02;40;05 in the afternoon and go cool off because Orlando is pretty hot, 00;02;40;08 - 00;02;43;08 then you can just jump from the skyline, get back really quickly, 00;02;43;08 - 00;02;45;09 go to your hotel room, go and get changed. 00;02;45;09 - 00;02;48;12 Good as the pool cool off and then you can go back at Epcot 00;02;48;12 - 00;02;50;26 a bit later on to go towards the fireworks or have some fun. 00;02;50;26 - 00;02;52;22 Same with Disney's Hollywood studios as well. 00;02;52;22 - 00;02;57;12 So this is one of the reasons I really recommend stay at this particular result. 00;02;57;18 - 00;03;02;13 So said you'll be staying in one of the four different themed areas. 00;03;02;13 - 00;03;07;01 So you have Finding Nemo cars, The Lion King or The Little Mermaid 00;03;07;01 - 00;03;11;17 section, and each section and even inside the rooms you're going to find touches 00;03;11;17 - 00;03;15;11 and color films and lots of things from the film. 00;03;15;11 - 00;03;16;09 So you really kind of feel 00;03;16;09 - 00;03;20;14 like you are staying within those Disney and Pixar films. 00;03;20;16 - 00;03;23;03 When he first arrived, you going to be walking into Animation Hall 00;03;23;03 - 00;03;24;26 And this is where art comes to life, 00;03;24;26 - 00;03;27;21 so you get to see different frames and stills. 00;03;27;21 - 00;03;30;10 Lots of our work from lots of your favorite 00;03;30;10 - 00;03;32;11 Disney films are all up On the Wall 00;03;32;11 - 00;03;35;27 is also where you can occasionally meet some Disney friends as well. 00;03;35;27 - 00;03;39;03 So when we were having a look around, Daisy Duck was out. 00;03;39;09 - 00;03;42;09 I was just really kind of cool to go and see her. 00;03;42;16 - 00;03;45;20 And it's a great kind of thing that, you know, you just arrive at the hotel 00;03;45;20 - 00;03;47;20 and there's a Disney character or series 00;03;47;20 - 00;03;50;20 you don't have to queue up from like you would have to do in the theme parks. 00;03;50;20 - 00;03;54;00 There's plenty of things to do in the hotel, even though it is 00;03;54;02 - 00;03;55;23 is a value house. 00;03;55;23 - 00;03;57;04 So, so plenty of things to do. 00;03;57;04 - 00;04;02;10 Of course, it wouldn't be a Disney hotel without a shop, so the Ink and Paint store 00;04;02;12 - 00;04;04;27 has loads of Disney merchandise. 00;04;04;27 - 00;04;06;25 You get lots of different things in there. 00;04;06;25 - 00;04;08;09 You can also get some snacks in there 00;04;08;09 - 00;04;10;19 as well as you want to take the snacks back to the room, 00;04;10;19 - 00;04;12;12 especially like the goofy candy. 00;04;12;12 - 00;04;16;10 They get things out the but costumes and of course is 00;04;16;16 - 00;04;19;27 as was good selection and magic bands of course as well 00;04;19;29 - 00;04;24;08 there's an arcade so I think arcade probably as popular as it used to be 00;04;24;08 - 00;04;28;05 because people generally tend to travel with phones and tablets. 00;04;28;05 - 00;04;31;05 Now they can play games on for the kids, so generally don't 00;04;31;05 - 00;04;34;05 tend to go in there as much. 00;04;34;08 - 00;04;37;19 Then you've also got the the landscape of flavors, 00;04;37;21 - 00;04;40;04 which is the quick service restaurants is where you go and grab 00;04;40;04 - 00;04;43;10 a tray and go up and go and help yourself and then pay. 00;04;43;12 - 00;04;46;21 So there's kind of a nice a range of different kind of things. 00;04;46;21 - 00;04;50;06 It's more of the American kind of food that you're going to find in there. 00;04;50;08 - 00;04;55;01 If you're on the Disney dining plan, then you can use your quick service meals 00;04;55;03 - 00;04;55;22 in here. 00;04;55;22 - 00;04;57;24 So some people use them for breakfast. 00;04;57;24 - 00;05;00;23 Some people might be using it for a dinner. 00;05;00;23 - 00;05;04;15 Well, this is a really great for is if you've got young kids. 00;05;04;17 - 00;05;06;27 One of you looks after the kids in the 00;05;06;27 - 00;05;10;06 in the room and the other one goes to go get some food. 00;05;10;06 - 00;05;12;07 Just do it as takeaway, come pick it up 00;05;12;07 - 00;05;16;14 and then take it back to the room so you don't have to eat out, 00;05;16;16 - 00;05;19;25 you know, sort of set in the case down in the quick service restaurant, things 00;05;19;28 - 00;05;22;20 probably a lot easier just to go and eat in the room especially. 00;05;22;20 - 00;05;23;16 They're getting a bit tired. 00;05;23;16 - 00;05;24;18 They may be getting ready. 00;05;24;18 - 00;05;26;27 They can eat the food in the Bahamas. 00;05;26;27 - 00;05;30;23 Want some stuff on the Disney channels around in the TV's in the room. 00;05;30;28 - 00;05;34;09 One the best things to get is a resort mug. 00;05;34;12 - 00;05;39;06 This is about $22 and it lasts for 14 days. 00;05;39;06 - 00;05;42;21 And it gives you a limited soft drinks. 00;05;42;24 - 00;05;46;25 And so teas and coffees and things like that, whilst you're in the resort 00;05;46;28 - 00;05;49;27 hotels doesn't work at the theme parks of well, the water parks, 00;05;49;27 - 00;05;52;23 but it does work in the hotel also works in other hotels. 00;05;52;23 - 00;05;53;08 If you happen 00;05;53;08 - 00;05;57;03 to sort of wander around as well, look around some of the other hotels 00;05;57;09 - 00;05;58;26 you can use use in there as well. 00;05;58;26 - 00;06;03;04 So the refill stations are inside the the restaurant. 00;06;03;07 - 00;06;04;16 So be mindful that, you know, 00;06;04;16 - 00;06;08;16 give me to get a drink free in the morning because the restaurant shuts. 00;06;08;18 - 00;06;10;03 So it does mean you can go up and you can go 00;06;10;03 - 00;06;12;16 and help yourself to Coca-Cola products. 00;06;12;16 - 00;06;14;00 Iced tea. Iced tea is good. 00;06;14;00 - 00;06;17;02 The one thing I would suggest is you've got the sweets in one 00;06;17;02 - 00;06;19;09 and you've got the other sweets and one makes them together 00;06;19;09 - 00;06;21;24 because the unsweetened one doesn't taste chicken. Great. 00;06;21;24 - 00;06;23;10 But the sweet and one is too sweet. 00;06;23;10 - 00;06;25;27 So I washed it, basically mixing two together 00;06;25;27 - 00;06;27;22 to make a drink that was actually really nice. 00;06;27;22 - 00;06;30;00 And then you also got stock teas and coffee 00;06;30;00 - 00;06;31;16 filter coffee and that kind of stuff that come. 00;06;31;16 - 00;06;33;12 They come through really great and it's nice. 00;06;33;12 - 00;06;35;23 That was souvenirs Take back coffee as well 00;06;35;23 - 00;06;38;26 The the mugs are huge the amount that they can actually hold 00;06;38;26 - 00;06;42;19 because they're insulated for the for the hot drinks is huge. 00;06;42;27 - 00;06;48;12 So for me who drinks as water and things I quite quickly couple of gulps down 00;06;48;12 - 00;06;53;01 below kind of going for it so yeah you can get fruit a little bit quickly. 00;06;53;09 - 00;06;56;25 One of the best reasons to stay at Disney's 00;06;56;28 - 00;06;59;23 animation Resort is because of this room pools. 00;06;59;23 - 00;07;01;03 They have some really good pools. 00;07;01;03 - 00;07;05;00 Now generally what is if you're staying in a value hotel, 00;07;05;02 - 00;07;09;08 the pools tend to be not as fancy. 00;07;09;08 - 00;07;12;05 So don't have slides. For example, move. It's a motor resort. 00;07;12;05 - 00;07;12;29 They have slides. 00;07;12;29 - 00;07;18;08 You move up to the deluxe hotels and the pools, hence have fancier slides. 00;07;18;10 - 00;07;21;17 But at Disney's Art of Animation Resorts, 00;07;21;17 - 00;07;25;02 they actually have the largest resort pool in all of Walt Disney World. 00;07;25;02 - 00;07;26;28 So this is the big blue pool. 00;07;26;28 - 00;07;30;06 So you can guess this is obviously from the film Finding Nemo. 00;07;30;06 - 00;07;34;17 So this is an absolutely huge shroom pool. 00;07;34;17 - 00;07;38;21 It's something like 300,000 00;07;38;21 - 00;07;43;14 gallons of water that is inside it, massive. 00;07;43;17 - 00;07;46;04 So there are always going be places for you to go and sit out and relax. 00;07;46;04 - 00;07;49;11 And this is one of the top reasons that people stay on site at Walt 00;07;49;11 - 00;07;54;23 Disney World is the fact that they can go back to the hotel in the afternoon, go 00;07;54;23 - 00;07;58;18 and get cooled down in the swimming pool, and then go back a bit later on. 00;07;58;19 - 00;07;59;26 So it's a great way of doing that. 00;07;59;26 - 00;08;03;14 If you've got a teeny toddler, then you got the the schoolyard 00;08;03;14 - 00;08;06;22 splash ground and this is where there's water jets and this fun 00;08;06;22 - 00;08;09;22 surprise is out lying all around. 00;08;09;24 - 00;08;13;17 And then there's also Squirt Righteous Reef as well, 00;08;13;17 - 00;08;16;18 which is a Finding Nemo playground, which is just next door. 00;08;16;26 - 00;08;19;08 There are towels are at the swimming pools. 00;08;19;08 - 00;08;20;24 You don't need to bring this house from the river. 00;08;20;24 - 00;08;23;20 You can just go and grab. It's how I washed her at the pool. 00;08;23;20 - 00;08;26;25 There's also the drop off pool bar as well, which is quite handy to go 00;08;26;25 - 00;08;29;29 and get some snacks or you're going to go and get a drink bar section. 00;08;29;29 - 00;08;33;07 They've got the cozy cone pull, which is based off 00;08;33;08 - 00;08;36;07 see from the film Cars. 00;08;36;07 - 00;08;38;28 So this one is a bit more of a kind of relaxed 00;08;38;28 - 00;08;42;04 kind of poolside to say the roles of kids sort of splashing around. 00;08;42;04 - 00;08;45;20 This is sort of a smaller pool of, give it example, this is 75,000 00;08;45;20 - 00;08;49;14 gallons of water, whereas the other pools, 300,000 gallons of water. 00;08;49;14 - 00;08;54;11 So it is a smaller kind of swimming pool with all the swimming pools at this. 00;08;54;11 - 00;08;56;27 They they do cater for special needs, a mobility issues too. 00;08;56;27 - 00;09;00;03 They have things like the pool lifts and the lifeguards are there to help. 00;09;00;09 - 00;09;04;21 The flip in fins pool is in the Little Mermaid section 00;09;04;23 - 00;09;07;09 and this is like a nice cool kind of swimming pool 00;09;07;09 - 00;09;12;05 as well as you can go and see Sebastian and a niece conducting an orchestra. 00;09;12;05 - 00;09;15;20 And it's kind of a cool kind of place, like the swimming pools, 00;09;15;23 - 00;09;20;07 especially that the big blue pool have got some family friendly events. 00;09;20;13 - 00;09;24;29 I say might do some sort of pool parties, they might do some activities 00;09;25;01 - 00;09;26;17 around the pool as well. 00;09;26;17 - 00;09;30;19 So it's a way to kind of like go and enjoy the pool that if they were kids, 00;09;30;19 - 00;09;32;17 they can go off and go and do these kind of activities 00;09;32;17 - 00;09;36;29 and you can just maybe just chill out, relax and get some sun and or read a book. 00;09;37;00 - 00;09;38;07 So chill out, relax 00;09;38;07 - 00;09;41;17 because you're going to need it for when you go back into the film, Box 00;09;41;19 - 00;09;44;21 says, Talk about the rooms here at Disney's animation. 00;09;44;21 - 00;09;49;03 So in total, there's about 1120 family suites. 00;09;49;05 - 00;09;51;08 These are the big ones that hold up to six people. 00;09;51;08 - 00;09;55;29 Talk about those in the minute and there's about 860 of the standard rooms. 00;09;56;06 - 00;09;59;29 So the standard rooms are the Little Mermaid Standard rooms. 00;09;59;29 - 00;10;00;18 Okay. 00;10;00;18 - 00;10;05;05 And these have I've got one king bed or they've got two queen beds. 00;10;05;07 - 00;10;10;15 So pretty sort of standard room this is a motel style result. 00;10;10;17 - 00;10;15;24 So that means that the door to your room leads faces outwards to the outside. 00;10;15;26 - 00;10;18;13 Looks like a motel, kind of a summit. 00;10;18;13 - 00;10;19;01 We're not kind of 00;10;19;01 - 00;10;24;00 quite used to in the UK most hotels and if you go outside of your room, 00;10;24;07 - 00;10;27;00 you go into a corridor here, you go straight out into the outside. 00;10;27;00 - 00;10;27;21 It is kind of covered. 00;10;27;21 - 00;10;31;20 Patricia Bay above you is covered, but it just means you can be going 00;10;31;20 - 00;10;35;12 straight to the outside, like away free wi fi. 00;10;35;12 - 00;10;38;24 This telephone in there, TV, there's this very small 00;10;38;24 - 00;10;41;24 kind of light fridge that equal they call it a beverage cooler. 00;10;41;24 - 00;10;45;08 You can just sort of like put hands and things back in there. 00;10;45;10 - 00;10;48;10 Coffee maker bathrooms are kind of quite good. 00;10;48;12 - 00;10;52;10 It's a little bit smallish, but they have kind of tried 00;10;52;10 - 00;10;55;22 to work with that, a space that they've actually got. 00;10;55;25 - 00;10;58;11 It's just somewhere you want to just go in and stay. 00;10;58;11 - 00;11;02;20 The Little Mermaid is a nice sort of standard trip. 00;11;02;23 - 00;11;05;07 The Spaniels suites are the find in Imo's, 00;11;05;07 - 00;11;09;08 The Cars and the Lion King Family Suites. 00;11;09;10 - 00;11;11;18 So with these ones they are big. 00;11;11;18 - 00;11;15;12 It gives the example a standard room. 00;11;15;15 - 00;11;19;24 So that's a Little Mermaid center room is 277 square foot, 00;11;19;26 - 00;11;23;25 whereas family suites are 565 square foot. 00;11;23;27 - 00;11;26;28 It's basically give or take ten feet, 00;11;26;29 - 00;11;31;12 ten square feet, not up the size of the rooms. 00;11;31;12 - 00;11;33;00 It's pretty much the same. 00;11;33;00 - 00;11;37;18 Having one family suites as it is having two Little 00;11;37;18 - 00;11;41;10 Mermaid suites pricewise needs a check. 00;11;41;11 - 00;11;42;00 Okay. 00;11;42;00 - 00;11;45;15 When you speak to us, we'll be able to help you because sometimes 00;11;45;22 - 00;11;49;29 it's cheaper, quite a bit two rooms and is try and get one room. 00;11;50;04 - 00;11;53;20 So the downside is that the rooms butler be next to each other. 00;11;53;23 - 00;11;56;04 So she needs to be careful with that. 00;11;56;04 - 00;12;00;04 But it means probably a bit more privacy 00;12;00;06 - 00;12;04;05 because it is two separate rooms also can be quite a bit cheaper as well. 00;12;04;10 - 00;12;05;20 So let's talk about the different ones. 00;12;05;20 - 00;12;09;18 You've got to find a name, a family suite, the Cost Family Suite and the Lion King 00;12;09;20 - 00;12;10;15 family suite. 00;12;10;15 - 00;12;15;09 So with these ones you have in one room, Queen bed. 00;12;15;09 - 00;12;19;21 So that's like in the actual room, the bedroom sort of side of things. 00;12;19;22 - 00;12;20;09 As you walk 00;12;20;09 - 00;12;24;22 in, you've got straight ahead of you you've got like a living room area. 00;12;24;22 - 00;12;29;21 And in here you can have a double size sofa bed to the left of you. 00;12;29;21 - 00;12;30;21 You're going to have will the right. 00;12;30;21 - 00;12;32;18 I've read every which way you go into the room, 00;12;32;18 - 00;12;34;21 you're going to have a double sized table bed. 00;12;34;21 - 00;12;37;21 So this is one of these ones that so comes down from the 00;12;37;25 - 00;12;40;25 it's a table during the day, and then you pull it down 00;12;40;27 - 00;12;44;02 and then make it into a bed, and then you've got the queen bed. 00;12;44;02 - 00;12;47;02 So in total, there are three beds.
