Disobedient to parents - Audio

Paul’s list of sins and attitudes contains the worst of the worst, and the fact that “disobedience to parents” is within this list shows where God’s heart is on the matter. In fact, it was considered so important that to disobey was worthy of death. Ephesians says to “honor your father and mother” and that this is the first commandment with a promise, “that your days may be long on the earth.” Throughout the Bible honor of parents is considered right and natural, with dishonoring a sign of the last days. This not only applies to the young ones, but the older children as well, and as the parents become elderly they should be respected and their counsel listened to. Rather than a bunch of rules, this points us to Jesus if we’re to obey and love as we should.
