Why do we want the things we want? Our desires aren’t inherently evil, but when good things become ultimate things, they turn into idols. Just like the Israelites fashioned an idol from the gold God blessed them with, we, too, can let created things take God’s place in our hearts. The Apostle Paul in Romans 1:24 warns of what happens when darkened hearts over-desire created things instead of the Creator.How do we reorder our disordered desires?
