Questions for discussion: 1. Have you ever had a situation where you were just overwhelmed by your circumstances or surroundings? What was that like? 2. What are the types of things that tend to overwhelm us or paralyze us as we journey on mission with Jesus? What have you experienced as you journey with him? 3. Read Matthew 14:22-33. What did you notice in this story? What specifically does Jesus do in this story? What do we learn from his responses to Peter? 4. What do you see in Peter? Are there any principles that may apply to following Jesus in all of life? 5. Are you currently facing any storms in your life right now? Is there an opportunity to ‘walk on water’ out to Jesus in the midst of it? 6. What is one area in your life where you need to cry out “Lord save me!” as you journey with him?
