She is the Executive Director of Pride Action Tank, a project of AIDS Foundation Chicago (AFC), driving the innovation, collaboration and learning necessary to make Pride Action Tank a leader in improving the health, safety and progress of individuals and groups within the LGBTQ+ community.When asked about the low numbers for identifying small businesses owned by LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, Kim cites the lack of organized efforts to gather enough data about members of the community."Information about LGBTQ+ business owners, not to mention individuals or households, is underreported that it’s hard to see the real impact of policies and initiatives on the community," says Kim. "This stems from the discrimination that still exists for members of the community."Kim also serves as the Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy Operations at AFC building relationships among stakeholders and a culture that enables inclusion and innovation by ensuring that all participants can fully participate in co-creating ideas and community."Government agencies need to realize that there is so much diversity within the LGBTQ+ community," points out Kim.
