Diversity in Menopause and Meno washing With Meera Bhogal.

from WomenKind Collective

In this episode we talk about diversity in menopause with the incredible Meera Bhogal a business owner for over 20 years, the founder of Meera’s Made From Scratch, an organic and wholesome food brand. Through her own experience of menopause, she founded the ‘Don’t pause for Menopause’ programme. Meera also offers support to people in their menopause and is passionate about education and awareness, particularly, but not exclusively, in the South Asian community. She is full of information, her approach to breaking taboos, educating communities and having those difficult conversations makes her a perfect guest for Womenkind Collective. We discuss the menopause wellness industry and ask Has it gone too far? Is it tapping into peoples vulnerability and insecurities and taking advantage of folks in menopause? Or is any awareness good awareness? Are social, patriarchal idealisms not allowing women the privilege of aging as they should? You can also watch the full unedited (bloopers and all) interview with Meera on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFgmHLcdx28eco-XlkWYwUA Meera also gives us a delicious recipe for our frugal foodie full of nutritious goodness and very easy to make, lentil and mushroom stew which we will be making for next week. In our book collective we continue to read Dame Deborah James, How To Live When You Could Be Dead, we’re on chapter 6 we discuss how grit and resilience are paramount to get through life and how grit can literally change your life for the better. We have a new WI to try out. We ask do women apologise too much and we invite you to find out, giving you some tips to do so.There’s a great quote from Jinty and our usual shenanigans, cock-ups, there’s a menopause rally round-up, and your amazing comments so make sure you put the kettle on and settle in for this hour (ish) of fun and meaningful chat. Our campaign for a Menopause Clinic in Devon is moving closer but we still need signatures on our petition: https://www.change.org/p/wheresmyclinicOr to send your testimonials please email us: [email protected] finally, if you would like the templates to send to your MP or CCG please visit our website: https://menopauseclinicfordevon.co.uk If you’ve enjoyed our Podcast please consider buying us a Ko-Fi.
