Divine Direction, Week One

The decisions we make today, determine the stories we tell tomorrow. Focus on "WHO" before "DO" Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do… 1 Peter 1:13-15 (NIV) Focus on "HIS WAYS" before "HIS WILL" Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) God's will is for you to be holy… 1 Thessalonians 4:3 (NIV) …give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. 1 Peter 2:15 (NIV) Focus on "WHY" before "WHAT" All a person's ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. The Lord works out everything to its proper end… Proverbs 16:2-4 (NIV) Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)
