Divine Order (Part 1)
from The Truth Church
Pastor Hilton preaches on divine order and repentance, using Hebrews 6:1-3 and Acts 17:30-31 as his primary texts. He establishes that God is a God of order, consistency, and timeliness, and that human sin is a disruption of His divine order. Sin, he teaches, is not just wrong actions but also failing to align one's life with God's perfect will. He argues that the process to restore God's order in one's life is repentance, which he believes has lost its true meaning in modern Pentecostalism. Using Jesus' and John the Baptist's examples, he shows that repentance was the precursor to the Kingdom of Heaven and the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He emphasizes that genuine repentance is not a temporary or emotional act but produces lasting fruit: carefulness, clearing of oneself, indignation, fear, desire, zeal, and revenge against sin, as outlined in 2 Corinthians 7:11. Pastor Hilton illustrates this with Peter's denial and restoration, noting that Peter's first public command after receiving the Holy Ghost was 'Repent' (Acts 2:38). He concludes that repentance is God's reasonable command for all people, a means of total absolution, and the first petition in prayer (seeking God's will). He calls the congregation to a life of godly sorrow that produces a salvation not to be repented of, urging them to realign their lives with God's divine order.
