Kanak Mani Dixit is the founder of Himal Southasian Magazine, known and respected for its independent coverage of the subregion in an accessible online format. We wanted to talk to Mr. Dixit about an article he wrote for the magazine on September 7th. Weeks after Nepal’s disastrous flooding he spoke to Gil Halsted and Amitabh Pal extensively about past and future events and actions relating to the massive tragedy and what can and should be done about it We are grateful to Kanak Mani Dixit for his generosity in explaining causes and effects of the Nepal events and proposals and recommendations for action.
