DJ Craig Morey (Early 80's)

from SFDPS · host SFDPS

This tape encapsulates the San Francisco nightclub sound in the early 80's. I had to do a little re-EQing on this tape to clean it up. It was also full of tape hiss that I was able to remove from the recording. It now sounds a lot better. Craig Morey was a DJ at Circus Disco in Hollywood, CA from 1978 - 1980. Studio One in West Hollywood, CA 1980, Trocadero Transfer in San Francisco, CA 1980 -1981. In 1981 Craig joined up with Bill Motley at Moby Dick Records in San Francisco. The first release at Moby Dick featured Craig in the street scene of the hit single "Cruisin" The Streets" by the Boystown Gang. Craig also co-produced remix versions of Jump Shout by Lisa and released on Disconet. Craig had a wonderful talent for transforming a dull song into a work of art.
